I-131 Expedite Request

PSA, the USCIS has instructions on how to expedite your I-131 in the instructions pdf file on their webpage but we followed those instructions exactly and when I got off the phone with the customer service representative just now, they said that they had no record that the application had requested expediting service and the customer service rep said they weren't aware of the instructions to write "EXPEDITE" in the top right corner of the application even after spending about 10 minutes searching for those instructions while I was on hold.  So my advice is follow the instructions but realize that following the instructions is not going to get your request made.   After you get your NOA, call and make sure to request expediting through a customer service rep.

The expedite instructions you are referring to  are for an "application for a Reentry Permit, a Refugee Travel Document, or an Advance Parole Document for an individual outside the United States".

So this is not the appropriate way to request an expedite if you arrived on a K-1 and are going through adjustment of status.

This is correct. We initially requested to expedite this way and they ignored it. We had to call and go through motions.
