For anyone else looking at the internview process for Canada (Montreal).  I got the notice that my case was at the embassy on December 15, 2022.  I had already done my DS 160 on November 12 so I waited until December 29 for them to send me Packet 3, but it didn't arrive. So I then sent in all of the information that is required from Packet 3 (the passport scan, the Interview document list signed off and the copy of the DS 160 confirmation page) with a VERY polite email.  It worked!  A few days later on January 6, I got the Packet 4 email that says I am good to book an interview.  When I get to the pay the fee page it won't let me go any further until some appointments come open.  It says there are "No available appointments" and to check back in a few days.  I remain hopeful every day that they will open some dates.

It is hard to wait when I am so close to that finish line...... but this whole process is about being patient.

Hello folks, Im so happy many of you have your partner finally by your side or are very close.

I'm a bit confused about my situation and was wondering if yall could help me out a bit plz.

My NOA2 was on 10-27-2022

since then I haven't received anything from NVC yet.

I did message  nvcresearch@state.gov on 12-24-2022 asking if they have received my case and they messages back on 12-28-2022

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on December 01, 2022. Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems.

Since your case is not in our systems yet, we cannot make updates.

As soon as your case is in our systems, we will send a Welcome Letter and instructions. Then, if you still need help updating your case, you can contact us by using one of the methods listed on https://nvc.state.gov/ask."

I was wondering what that meant. Also am I currently right on schedule and this is normal or am I behind and need to do something?

You're timeline looks pretty similar to others.

Our NOA 2 was 9-21-2022.

I messaged the NVC and received the exact response as you.

10-28-2022 NVC received the case (but did not yet enter it into the system).

On 12-20-2022 we received our K-FTP (notice that NVC entered our case into the system and forwarded it to the embassy).

Then just this week on 1-11-2023, my fiance received an email from the embassy with approval to schedule an appointment.

Our interview is now scheduled for 3-2-2023.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Good day all,

I received the following email today:

The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
I am unable to update my timeline for some reason as it's showing an error with the date no matter how I enter it but it was 87 days before I got this. I had reached out to my local congresswoman's office last week to see what they could do. They said they would forward it Homeland Security for review. I can't confirm that it had anything to do with receiving the notice but we are ecstatic that we've moved onto the next step. Now more waiting...We'll keep you guys updated with everything. Thank to everyone. Fingers crossed. :)

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) has received your petition and will send detailed instructions to the petitioner, principal applicant, and attorney of record (if applicable) soon.

To make sure your private information stays protected, send future inquiries and attachments using the Public Inquiry form only. You can find it at https://nvc.state.gov/inquiry.

Remember, you must provide privacy information to receive case specific information.  Please limit your inquiry to one case per submission.

I received above email this morning, reading through the comments here it seems it means they created my case and just need to wait for them to send me the information now, which could take a week or 2. slowly but surly day by day things are speeding up.

For those arriving now or soon make sure to check the VJ process here:

We were overjoyed to be together again but the process doesn't stop. Get an SSN, driver permit, marriage license, and health insurance as soon as you can.  She got her SSN today, we applied 2 weeks after arrival as recommended here:

Good luck everyone!
