I need some help. I see that everyone is suggesting to have a copy of the i-129f form I sent to USCIS when my fiance goes to the interview. The problem is I left the states to come stay with my fiance while we wait for an approval. Now we have the approval and waiting for a response from NVC, but I didnt bring that i129f copy with me. How important is this step? Should I really invest in another round trip home just to get that packet? From my understanding they will have all this info with them, whats the value in us bringing a copy with us?

I also asked this in the August forum but I figure more people from this group might have been through the interview process already.

I have not been through this process but I have not heard of them requesting anything already submitted and approved.

They may ask for additional things on top of what you sent especially on the relationship. My personal advice to you is just make sure that both you and your fiancé are on the same page about what is everything that is in the packet. So that that person is aware in case they ask any additional information or clarification. But I do not think the person necessarily needs copies for the interview.

Their lead times are here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

But who knows how accurate that is

Email this email address and ask on the status: Include your USCIS #, Names, Date of birth etc.

NVCResearch@state.gov

They are quick 2-3 days you will have a response.

It took them a month to respond to us each time. Still no NVC number :(

What?? So youve been waiting for your NVC number for over two months now? How does that even make sense… I thought this part was supposed to move much quicker.. 😕😕😕

I'm at 36 days on mine with still no number. 🙄

Yep same here. But based on the comment above its looking like 60 days and still no case numbers. Has ANYONE in this group reported case numbers yet?? I really want to know what kind of time frame to expect…

Yep.

Edit: Whoops, sorry I mean  for a bit over 6 weeks now, not 8. It was 3 weeks each(ish) per email, not quite 4. My bad.

You are looking at roughly 90 days from NOA2 to the Consulate receiving your case.

Good to know. Is this the NVC-Research email that you used to get the faster response? NVCInquiry@state.gov

No, that's the slow one. the fast one is this:

NVCResearch@state.gov

by the way, just after posting that, I received a response from them. It took 11 days this time, but I imagine that is because of the holidays.

"The National Visa Center (NVC) recently received your immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Your petition is now waiting for data entry into our systems."

Still same as last time. They have received it, but not yet assigned us a number. 62 days and counting from NOA2
