Anyone know if theres a way to check the NVC progress? Been just over 2 months since our NOA2. Wondering if that's normal.

Their lead times are here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

But who knows how accurate that is

Email this email address and ask on the status: Include your USCIS #, Names, Date of birth etc.

NVCResearch@state.gov

They are quick 2-3 days you will have a response.

Thanks Cheddy! Much appreciated, I will try that email.

Our attorney sent an inquiry to the NVC a few days ago so hopefully they respond.

@biscoito1r Thanks for the doc! Helpful info in there.

@Lynxyonok I did check that link, thanks for the resource!

Hope everyone is seeing some good progress on their cases and hoping things speed up for everyone.

Our case was approved for expedite with NOA2 date of 9/22/22, and it still has not been entered into the NVC system. They say it can take over 60 days.

You can submit a status request here:

https://nvc.state.gov/inquiry

Or email them at NVCResearch@state.gov

They respond pretty quickly, but not with much info.

Good luck!

Im looking at the NVC processing times and I am a little bit confused. Can someone help?

They have an estimate for case creation time, which happens after USCIS sends your approved file to them. But then they have a case approval estimate, which is like 2 months out. What exactly do they need to approve? Do our cases go through ANOTHER approval process? And it states that you have to submit affidavit of support and other documents which I thought you did all that at the local embassy when you schedule your interview…

it's exactly what @Parallel Oddling said, all those docs will be submitted to the embassy directly.

There are three steps to the NVC:

The first step is they receive your case from USCIS and it's in the pile of case creation.

The next step is they create a case for you, send you your welcome letter and CEAC case number where you will be able to track your case.

The final step is they send your case along to your designated embassy.

Each of these three steps are somewhat random and can take about a month each.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

the numbers here show this process.

For example, I was approved on September 27th. I sent emails to the NVC about month later, and on Nov 2nd I got a response that they had not even received my case.

Then Nov 10th I got a response to another email saying they had received my case and will send a letter once it's processed.

Logically from the above NVC processing times website, I assume my case wont be processed and I won't be assigned a number, for about another 2-3 weeks.

Then it will be another month+ before they send it to the embassy.

Hey everyone, first post here.

Just wanted to let you know that my Fiancé's case was approved after 477 days!

It was an excruciating, painful and anxiety-inducing wait, but it is finally over.

Now to wait for the NVC to do their part. Thanks for the support even if I was just lurking.

Don't give up.

This group has been so quiet! Happy to hear some good news!!
