Self generated DS230.

Did anyone use James short to create DS230?

Any objection from NVC?

Please write your experiences.

Thanks a bunch in advance.

just generate the barcode sheet. then scan send to your wife via e mail.

then DS 230 she can print this offline or you send her the link.

she sign and mail the paper to you or send via FEDEX to NVC < that is what

I had my husbnad do >

the DS 230 its easy to just get offline. * just make note of the recent version of that form.

I downloaded the form from Aussie’s updated version of James shortcut.

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/7988.pdf

and coversheet from following URL

The only issue I countered with was in current version of MS Word how to adjust

the size of image? (width & height)

the measuring unit is in ‘PT’ in not inches or cms. That was the reason I just little worried how to tweak the size of the Bar Code as per James shortcut instruction (i.e. adjust Height to 0.4" and the width to 3.45")

What happen if the size of the image is not 100% correct?

I used James shortcut to generate the Barcode sheet for DS230 using the dimentions he noted. Infact, I have self generated all of the foms using James shortcut, and never had any problems..

shonjaved, Psoft,

The barcodes used by the NVC are linear barcodes.

The scanners that read these barcodes are very flexible with respect to barcode widths and heights.

Furthermore, if your case number is identified below the barcode, it is more than likely that your package will be matched to your case.

Print out the barcode sheet that is troubling you, take it to a friendly local store with a barcode scanner and ask them to test it. it will work.

Psoft,

in answer to your OP, James Shortcuts have been fully implemented by hundreds of people over the past year, with no problems highlighted to date.
