Ho Chi Minh consulate - seems no appointment are being accepted

Hi

 

Our approved K1 petition is at the consulate in HCMC for over a month and D160 has been submitted, we paid the fee. However we cannot schedule an appointment - it seems they don't accept any appointment due to the covid out break. I am getting concern that the K1 approval expires before we have a chance to get an appointment. Can  anyone share their experiences. Were you able to schedule an interview recently and if yes how?

The consulate can extend the validity of the petition.  If they are not scheduling interviews for K visas, there is not a lot anyone can do besides wait.

Exact same situation for me. Had appointment with embassy in hcm for second week of July for wife’s visa. That was canceled because of covid outbreak. Now no slots available. Doesn’t seem like any will become available any time soon considering the covid situation. 
 

Is it possible to move the interview to Hanoi? Or even another country? What other options do we have? Or are we stuck?

The embassy location in Hanoi does not give interview for immigrant base visa. I'm from Hanoi myself and had to travel to HCM just for the interview. So unfortunately you ll have to wait for the country to reopen again to get an appointment.
