We have a winner!

I think everyone should be realistic about their case and look for weaknesses. On paper, our AOS application is very strong. We have known each other for many years. We have similar educational backgrounds and not that dissimilar financial situations. But we have a potential timeline issue in terms of when our relationship started and when my ex (who came in on a K1) and I were over. It is very easily explained, and I put in a letter explaining it. We're ready to talk about it at interview, even if it does bring up a lot of difficult emotions because we are willing to do what it takes to make this as easy as possible for them. What we should not do is hide our heads in the sand and expect it will all be good, and essentially say on here "good vibez only!!!"

There have been some relationships on here where I'm like... that got approved? But I assume it's because what we see here isn't the whole story. You get a chance to tell the whole story, so it better be a good one.

We have also age differences but my wife was played smart because she change her name surname 1) changing your name is not that proof but of a bona fide relationship whatsoever. I can change my last name tomorrow to “Pitt”, but that doesn’t mean That I am Brad Pitt’s wife… unfortunately I haven’t met him lol. before applying case at uscis now my surname showing her documents like tax return tax transcript 2) that’s only one piece of evidence. While it is relevant, more would be better. social security card even on her passport 3) again, name change itself is not a solid evidence now so hopefully am confident now for my interview Next depend on the God God bless you..

The age difference can be a factor in the CO's decision, although it won't be the sole reason for a denial.  The very best evidence you can provide is that of time you have actually been together.  Time actually together is the best cure for this red flag.

Well... That is an excellent question! I would like to know this information also because my husband is half my age. I am in my 40s but he is in his 20s. But our love is so strong and so real. It would kill us if we are denied because we are trying to have a child...

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to know what would be considered as 'good evidence' in case of relationships.

My husband is 30years older than me. We met in person back in Aug 2019 as he was a consultant for my family's business. Our relationship was mostly online since the pandemic started and we couldnt travel.

Due to our age difference, we were certain that our relationship would never be approved by my family so I applied and received a full scholarship for a PhD for Fall 2020 to the US. Unfortunately the embassy (Bangladesh) never opened on time and I lost the scholarship. Around the same time my family found out and took away my passport (and made several threats to hurt him and me) so I couldnt apply for the January 2021 session either. I never got the chance to book an interview at the embassy.

We decided to get married and on March 2021 we married in secret (my husband was only here for 5 days). We submitted our I-130 through a lawyer in California but she only submitted papers of our marriage but did not submit any relationship evidence. She said it was not necessary at that stage. (????)

Anyway, back in June my husband came over for 3 weeks and I left home which led to my parents first threatening and then finally accepting and then arranging a 'proper wedding' that included many family and friends. The embassy had to be informed of the threats as my family was threatening to have him arrested on false charges. My husband is planning on coming for another 3 weeks this month.

I know our case has many red flags so I kinda wanted to know whether we should explain this complicated issue in a letter? Also, what is considered as 'good evidence'? We do have a few photos from his first trip when we met and then a few from when we got married and now a lot of photos from his trip last month. He does send me money but not to support me as I have a stable job and my family is pretty well off. He changed his savings account to a joint account cause the lawyer told him 'shared finances' is good evidence?

Yep!  Remember the 23 year old Pakistani guy who was attempting to marry a 67 year old American woman?!  He was incensed that we should suggest it was a green card marriage, and deign to call into question her ability to procreate!

I make a mistake to post my status i didn't get any advice i didn't get any positivity from any single member. I will remind you everyone this is my right to marry anyone no can blame me . And i will delete my post because not any other member will disappointed because of you guyz comments.thank you

Your topic  "Age difference ?  Will there be an issue at the spousal interview?"

short answer Yes

you posted the most negative thing yourself and since many of us including me had this issue (my age gap more than yours) we do know your chances are slim to none

Took me a lot of trips and time together to have his visa (6 years ) starting with K1 in 2009 and getting IR1 in 2015

you got best advice

make sure you have spent lots of time together

make sure you don't show she sends you money but if they ask if she does,  be honest and say yes

The CO will see the complete packet before the interview  so they know all before you start answering questions

Truth is to pass any interview ,  you have to be honest,   be positive and since you have to do it on your own,  there is no way anyone here can tell you how to overcome the big age difference,  its up to u to show a real relationship

I still don't understand why chances are slim to none. many people already posted similar age difference. Mine is bigger than this one and we all had only positive experience. I first entered USA 20 years ago and K1 visa was approved and we even didn't meet in person. Then my mom came to USA with a tourist visa and we changed the status and she successfully received the green card. Last year my husband with gap difference moved here with me without issues. I never consulted a lawyer and completed all papers myself.

You are luck the io didn’t realize you hadn’t met in person. That is a requirement . We are seeing red flags because the wife is sending him money, and he’s from Pakistan, which is deemed a high fraud country.

The slim to none is mostly this is Pakistan

if you go to the portal for this country and read posts and embassy reviews (if they complete them)  u will see this issue addressed

Loves to teach is still waiting for a visa approval and her case is going on over 5 years now

Many embassies are use to an older man marrying a younger woman but women like me who marry younger go thru a difficult long process to bring our younger husbands.

Even in the US Larry King was 29 years older than his young wife but the "other way around in kinda new"

And in Pakistan to answer another question that was posted is "in Pakistan and most countries there it is not the norm for a man to marry a divorced or widowed woman or one who can not conceive children as the family expects the man to produce children

Hi me and my wife have an age gap of 20 years no problems just make sure you have plenty of evidence of your  relationship

and you the man are the older one

embassies still give a problem when the woman is the older in the relationship

Why is everyone talking about money? Nobody asked my husband if he sent me money or I sent him money. It has nothing to do with the interview.

because he mentioned it

and the wife may have included it in the petition thinking it was good evidence and it isn't  ,  it backfires as  federal government warns us about sending money overseas and romance and marriage fraud for the green card
