Hi everyone. I filed taxes in 2020 but I didn't file in 2019 or 2018 as I was not earning during those years. Do I need a Joint sponsor as I don't have tax returns from the previous 2 years ? Even if I don't need a joint sponsor, would the fact that I don't have tax returns in those 2 years affect my visa application? Thank you in advance your expert advice.

Current tax year is what matters

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Unless you are self-employed, your current (as in 2021) income level is the most important factor in determining whether you need a joint sponsor or not.
