Hi,

My daughter when she was 12 years old faced B1/B2 visa interview at US embassy and was rejected. At that time her bate of birth on passport was 2005 which was not her original DOB.

Later in 2019 the passport was corrected with correct and original DOB which is 2004 and a new passport was issued.

Now she is going to face immigrant visa interview (F4) as a beneficiary. In the petition made 15 years ago and in DS-260 the DOB is given as 2004.

We have all the certificates from hospital, school and govt. that her DOB is 2004.

Question:

1. At her immigrant visa interview will it be an issue that DOB has been changed because she had finger print in 2016 at her B1/B2 visa interview?

2. Should we notify NVC upfront regarding this issue before the interview takes place?

Regards

It could be a problem.

What reason did you have for using the wrong DOB on her passport?  Especially such a huge error as the year?

It was done when she got admitted in her school for the first time. Her DOB was given incorrectly in the school and we carried out the wrong DOB in the first passport she made.
Is there any way we explain the situation to Embassy or NVC at this point? What should I do?

Notifying NVC will accomplish nothing.   Use the correct information in everything going forward

YMMV
