Anyone hate the post service as much as I do?

My history with them is awful.

Two years ago Luis was sending me some pictures from Puerto Rico and he had to send them 3 times, ´cus they simply got lost. THREE TIMES. And that´s just an example of their screw ups, both the one in Brasil and the US one.

Now I´m waiting on a translation I had made for me, so I can put it on the post and send to Luis, so we can finally start our jorney, but really! The translation was put in the post office on Monday, in the capital of the state, I love only 200 kilometers from the capital, and it´s Thursday, and it´s not here yet. :o

Also, today I was told that here, they don´t go deliver you correspondency unless there´s more than one thing to deliver, they let it add up with bills and other stuff before they actually go to your house to deliver it. They only do the effort (like it´s not their job) to go to your house for one thing when it´s SEDEX. Really, I can´t believe it!

I was wondering. I've never heard of the USPS ever "holding" your mail because you don't have enough to deliver. I can mail something from here at 5 pm in a dropbox and have it delivered the next morning in the metro area here. (and a large part of the metro area is in another state!)

I´m in Brasil, more precisely, Rondonia state, which happens to be in the Amazon. So yeah, and you would think that given the fact I´m almost on a LOST episode around here, they´d think we use the post service for a reason. :P But in Rio they would never hold my post just ´cus they´re too lazy to come deliver one letter.

US service in Puerto Rico is crappy as well, as said above with Luis trying to send me pictures.

Many times, I've mailed something in Rockville to a McLean address--if I mailed it in the morning the item would arrive by COB that afternoon (Rockville is in MD, McLean in VA).

The contrast to Canada Post:

  • items (mostly reject letters) mailed from company offices in Downtown Calgary would take four days (based on postmark) to reach my home in Calgary
  • item from Edmonton 1 week
  • from eastern Canada (anywhere east of Winnipeg) 10+ days

Plus, I've actually seen postage STOLEN by Canada Post. I got back a product registration card TWICE when sending it to US for "insufficient postage" (the second time, I'd nearly Krazy-Glued the postage on--both times, the original postage was removed). As I had to leave for Atlanta shortly after the second return, I simply reposted it (Product Registration Cards are "Business Reply--no postage needed if posted in US") from Salt Lake City airport during layover.

I'm sorry. Did you say you were using SedEx? or regular post? Because I thought SedEx was reliable and Quick. Also, Is it possible to FedEx and or DHL stuff within Brasil? Just wondering because I have accounts w/ Fedex and DHL.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

The stupid translator didn´t translate the line that says I graduated on Jan 13th 2006, which was what I wanted since this translation is going with the pic of Luis and I at my graduation, which will be strong evidence that he was there on that date, only 2 months ago. Had to e-mail the translator and have him do it again and send it straight to Luis in PR.

Translator said, Sorry, will do it again, like that will help as he just delayed my process an entire week. Blah!

Sent a SEDEX to Luis today, a SEDEX! And they said it will take 5 to 10 days. Since when is that SEDEX?!?!?! 60 reais for that!
