That’s progress right there.

Was your N-400 processed at NBC before being transferred to your local office? Did you receive a notification stating that?

Yes our N-400 paper confirmation said our application was assigned to NBC.

Hello everyone!

We filed our I-751 July 8th, 2021 and got our NOA 7/12/2021 and our biometrics waiver 9/9/2021. We're with the Nebraska center and have yet to hear anything after the 9/9 biometrics waiver.

This is probably a long shot but does anyone know if we can request a duplicate copy of a document they have already sent to us? We received his 18 month and 24 month extensions, but unfortunately we have lost his 24 month extension. I'm very upset about it as I keep all of his immigration documentation (even copies of his original K-1 package) in the same place as a "just in case" and I'm usually very diligent about this. I don't know how we could have lost it but here we are.

I was hoping we wouldn't need it but we're at 15 months now since submission and I'm starting to worry that we will hit 19 months and not have his 24 month extension letter for proof of his residency. If you know about anything we can do for this please let me know, I would really appreciate it!

Also, is there anyone else that's choosing to wait to apply for their N400? He was eligible 9/30/2022 but we've decided to hold off on applying. Since this next green card is good for 10 years, neither of us really see the need to apply for his N400 right away. We almost feel like we want to get our money's worth out of his 10 year 😂 From this thread this doesn't seem to be typical I guess. Will waiting impact his chances of being approved for citizenship in the future?

Just in general, how are is everyone holding up? I know it feels like we are so close to being set for a long time! I think it's a great feeling but also so stressful waiting for so long (again).

@ADAngel why not try to get I-551 stamp in his passport? That should work well for proving his LPR status. The 24 month extension letter probably doesn't have much left on it anyways. Waiting for I-751 approval does not impact his ability to naturalize in the future at all.

Hello,

First thing, on the lost extension letter, have you scanned a digital file of this document, assuming you have not, check USCIS if they still provide a passport ADIT stamp.

Second thing, you write that naturalization eligibility has been reached on 9/30/2022, did you confirm through the USCIS naturalization eligibility tool, assuming you have not, do that before proceeding with the N-400.

Our I-751 is also with the LIN Nebraska processing center, they are undoubtedly very slow in processing, but thats how it works. This past July we qualified for naturalization and applied. We are having our naturalization interview this coming November (Seattle, WA). We hope that the naturalization interview also adjudicates the I-751 since it seems naturalization cannot be approved if the I-751 is not approved.

Good luck with the N-400, I would leave the I-751 to sort itself out for the remaining period of the 24-month extension period (unless you are traveling abroad and hence please go check if the passport can have an ADIT stamp).

Cheers,

G&A

You can call them for an appointment and get a stamp in his passport. I'm pretty sure they won't issue original documents again.

It's a waiting game, we knew it from the beginning so we're just doing what we've been doing.

Hey guys, so this morning I got a notification from USCIS on my i751 (after NO MOVEMENT since filed in 2021) saying that my case was being transferred to another office for processing and that I will receive a notice by mail, anyone else getting this after filing N400? Thanks

Members of the forum can correct me, here is my understanding.

Unless your I-751 case requires in person interview, it's processed by a Service Center.

Both I-751 interviews and N-400 are processed by field offices. Because you filed N-400, they also transferred pending I-751 to field office. At the office they'll determine whether your I-751 will be approved without interview before N-400 interview or you will have a combo interview. Of course, it's possible N-400 will be conducted earlier without decision because of pending I-751.

From what I’ve seen, most people that had AOS interviews got their i751 approved without another interview, i got bio waved for both i751 and n400, I did upload a letter on my n400 with my i751 case info and requesting a combo interview, so hopefully that will happen soon 🙏🏽

Another update to my case today, now it says something about the fingerprints being applied, therefore, I’ll let you guys know when it says “card being produced” which is about to happen any time now because processing times for EAC (Vermont) are becoming due now and if it was transferred to a new jurisdiction with a better workload, we’re getting approved soon I’ll keep y’all posted

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to chime into the "Pending I-751 with an N-400 interview scheduled" discussion.

I like to share with you that this is exactly my situation.

My I-751 is still pending at LIN filed July 2021.

I applied for N-400 last July 2022 and got my interview scheduled for November 2022 in Seattle, WA.

It's less than 10 days now to N-400 interview and I had an idea last night which made me upload a scanned copy of my I-751 into the unsolicited documents of my N-400, I also uploaded a scanned copy of the 797 NOA extending my green card validity for 18 and 24 months.

Now I agree that an N-400 cannot be approved unless the I-751 is resolved.

Uploading my I-751 is just a proactive hunch that won't give the IO at my N-400 interview an opportunity to say they cannot make a decision (even if I passed the citizenship test) because they still have to get a copy of my I-751, I believe every IO is capable to making a decision right there based on the information on both forms.

What do you guys think?

Cheers,

G&A

@Gaps0214 tell us how it goes. I don't think it would work. They would probably want to see the originally submitted I-751 forms, not unsolicited uploaded copy.

The IO also may not have training to perform I-751.

Hopefully your file will make it to the field office before N-400 and they link them.

They will forward ur i-751 to the Washington office. As you stated they cant close the n400 without finishing the i-751.
Look at it as a 2 for 1

Was your case not moved when you sent the N400? My i751 case was moved a few days after submitting the N400, idk if it helped but under mandatory documents I submitted the expired gc and the extension letter, I also added a cover letter detailing that a i751 was pending and asked for a combo interview 🤷🏽‍♀️ just rolling dice basically 😁 but am remaining positive towards a good outcome, so if you didn’t upload a copy of your extension letter try it, good luck friend 🍀
