Hi-

We've been checking My USCIS account and have called USCIS.

We still have not recieved the biometrics appointment. It's been 2 months and feel like this is not a normal timeframe. We're in Houston.

Anyone else in the same boat?

TIA

Biometrics can take a while. I just received my letter yesterday after 7.5 months of waiting (FO is Baltimore, MD). The timeline mainly depends on your local office. You can try to find people from your area and estimate when will be your turn. In most cases, there is no change in your online status when biometrics are scheduled, you will just find mail in your mailbox. Status will be updated after biometrics will be taken. You can sign up for USPS informed delivery which will help you to track your letter.

Why check the website?  There is no update notice provided online when biometrics is scheduled

YMMV

4 - 5 months for biometrics in Houston

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Ok I didn't know where to look for it. I am worried it will get lost in the mail!

Other then the mail, is there anywhere else I can watch for it? Will they tell me at the main USCIS number?

Houston here.

We applied in September 2020, received RFE request in December, sent RFE in March 2021, and we received biometrics today (July 2021).

Thanks-May I ask what your RFE was about?

SO you received the biometrics appt 10 months after your application was submitted???

Hi Kierra,

biometrics are taking a little bit longer now due to covid. Have you created an account into the Myuscis website? I did mine two years ago, but I believe I got a notification there and then a couple of days later I got the appointment in the mail.
Also, you can sign up for usps informed delivery, so you are on the lookout for what’s coming in the mail too.

Good luck, breathe in and out. Immigration takes a while.

If your receipt number starts with IOE, you will be able to see biometrics in your online profile. If it does not, then you can only receive it via mail or by speaking to an agent via phone or chat. My biometrics appointment took 9 months. I was also worried about lost mail so after month 6 of waiting I got in the habit of contacting USCIS via chat once a week to ask if I had been scheduled and that is how I found out. I received the letter a few days later.

Finally, congrats!!! I had mine last week and 7 days later my status updated to "ready to be scheduled for interview" so I am hoping we don't have too much longer until we get scheduled. At this point I do not think I will be getting an EAD.

Status just changed yesterday to "ready to be scheduled for interview." Do you have any updates yet? I'm guessing it could take at least another 2-3 months.
