Russia resumes issuance of all types of visas for US citizens

According to the official Russian Embassy site, they are now resuming the processing of all types of visas to Russia, including tourist visas, for US citizens:

ON RESUMING VISA ISSUANCE

According to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation № 1745-r of June 28, 2021 the Consular Division of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the U.S.A. resumes the issuance of visa of all categories (including tourist visas).

Please be advised that the visas may be issued only for the U.S. citizens and citizens of other countries, who possess U.S. Green Cards.

Citizens of third countries, who temporarily visit the U.S.A., have to apply for Russian visas at Russian consular missions in the countries of their citizenship.

This could be good news for the US Embassy in Moscow as well assuming they can get staff back and resume normal working operations.

Sounds Good, I was just about to submit for a new Tourist Visa before the Covid shutdown, I'll have to get the dust off my application.  Though Our Lawyer has, finally, as of the July 1st asked the NVC to transfer our cases to Kazakhstan.  We should now be IR category since out 2 year anniversary was the 3rd.

This alone takes a lot of the sting out of the wait.

Any Idea of how long it will take for the NVC to respond?  The lawyer did mention that my wife and daughters are Tajikistan citizens.  and the The Embassy in Almaty, Kazakhstan is supposed to handle cases for citizens of Tajikistan.

One can hope but I don't see the US embassy being back quick enough. 

I emailed Kazakhstan office they said they are not taking also but that was few weeks ago. I have not heard anything from Warsaw. 

I also sent a expedite request for them to either approve it or send the case some place else if they are going to complete ignore us.

Our Lawyer tried to ask for Expedite  in Russia on June 1st and we haven't heard from that one either.

Well today the Lawyer said she got "Somewhat of a response from the NVC.  "The NVC will update the case and put it in the queue for Almaty, if we can provide an address and local phone # either in Kazakhstan or Tajikistan"

Update: recently got a new 3 year private (гостевая) visa to Russia via Washington, DC. Visa processing seems to have resumed normally. They no longer require the original заявление for the private visa, just a copy. I applied in person at Russia Visa Centre, but they also offer mail in options. The passport was mailed back to me via overnight UPS.

I will travel to Russia soon with a transfer in Germany. I am vaccinated but I think a negative covid test is required as well.

Please! I’m having trouble figuring out which of the three locations to send my visa request?  I’m located in Colorado, so I assume it would be Houston?

I think you can send your request anywhere? Houston would probably be the closest.

I applied through Russia Visa Centre and had no problems.
