Hi,

So my AOS interview has been scheduled for next month. I did my medical exam for the embassy in Nov 2019 and we filed for AOS on Oct of 2020. I was told that I don't need to re-do the medical since I filed within a year of taking it.

Can someone tell me how do I get a hold of the medical that I did for the embassy so I can bring it with me to the interview? I never really got a copy of it when I did it since it was sent straight from the doctor. to the embassy.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody gets a  copy, even if you did it couldn't be used for the interview,  they can only use the one submitted to them directly from the consulate

YMMV

Your medical documentation is in your immigration file that the USCIS has, and the IO should have in front of them for your interview. If they question the medical, all you could do is point out the instructions on the I-693 stating that a K-1 does not need another exam as long as they filed within a year of their overseas medical. However, if the IO insists you need a new one, or need the I-693 because you were missing any vaccinations, then you will have to comply.

I-693 instructions, Page 8>

If you were admitted as a:

A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or

B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination, and:

(a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or

(b) The panel physician did find a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver.

(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will need to have the Part 10. Vaccination Record completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you must submit Parts 1. - 5., 7., and 10. of Form I-693.

Thank you all for that information.

Do the IOs usually request a medical regardless if it has been taken within a year of filing for the AOS? Not sure if I should just go ahead and do it anyway just in case

No they don't and you shouldn't.

You would be wasting your time and money.  Good luck at your interview!

No, they shouldn't. Don't worry about, or spend any money on it unless specifically asked for it.
