NOA2 expirration date

Hello,

We received our NAO2 dated March 3, 2021, after filing in July 2020.  We have a case number from the NVCV, and I think the application has been at the NVC since the first part of April, 2021.  So about 90 days at the NVC still waiting for notice that the NVC has forwarded the packet to the consulate in Rio De Janeiro..  The expiration date on the NOA2 is June 30, 2021.  So it has expired as of yesterday.

I have read that this date will automatically be extended, however, I am curious if anyone has recent experience? Is there anything I need to do to have the date extended as we wait for the NVC to process us?

There are tens of thousands of people in the same situation.   

 

NVC does NOT have the authority to extend,  only the consulate can.

always good to write or email once a month to NVC to ask for case to be kept open
