mmmmm, I love falafels....

Have you ever had Acaraje? It's so good. Somewhat similar to falafel.

one of my favorites too! i had that made by this big mama with a stand on the beach in arraial d'ajuda. *drool!!!! i wonder if you can get it good anywhere in the states in a restaurant?

i like my falafel packed! tahini sauce, hot sauce, hummus, pickled cucumbers, pickled cabbage, eggplant (not baba, the roasted chunky one), onion, maybe some tomato. no lettuce on my falafel either.

chicken schwarma i like with toum (garlic sauce), tahini, hot sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the pickled turnips!

beef is good with tahini, hot sauce, tabbouleh, and onions.

*drool* i miss my favorite lebanese place in queens, ny! the best i've had outside the middle east for sure!

I don't think I've ever had falafel. I read about it after seeing this thread and the ingredients, the way it's cooked is similar to our brazilian acarajé. In Brazil it's very common in the northeast, and usually they have those big mammas cooking it, it's like they add a special flavor. It's delicious. I wish I could find a place here in the States that makes that.

 What is falafel? Sounds interesting...and with the condiments listed, sounds like something I'd like to try. :)

Toum :D lots of drool here...

I miss the food from the middle east the most... When we visited Egypt we had something called Foul Alexandria (the name the marriott had it under their menu)... wow that stuff was amazing. The shish taouk and the other grilled stuff is some of the best food Ive had had anywhere.
