Yes, you can write a letter and explain why you can't provide certain documents, and yes it will be fine. This is not my first time writing like that, and I was actually advised by uscis agent to write letter when I don't have anything.

Okay good. So I can just say we don’t live in the same country and he can’t be put on my account jointly until he has a SSN

YupYup. When I am less busy, I will share a redacted copy so you have an example.

Hi chn89

Yes they have - we were "officially" approved on 16 May (that's when my case status updated) but it actually happened on 13 May.  NVC contacted us on 19 May with login details and we paid the fees. I wasn't expecting to hear anything for at least a couple weeks so that was a nice surprise!

Yes, They requested RFE on March 14 2022 and they received my RFE documents on March 28 2022.

Thanks for your response! I also get RFE in my 130 in November (I didn't sign bcs I was overseas at that time). Your case make me have hope that my case is going to be approve soon!!

Here you go. I have written this kind of letter three times. first one in 2019 and it had 2 page. Just say that to say you could add as much as you want.

  • 2 weeks later...

It has now been exactly a year since I received my NOA1, for US spouse filing for IR1, from Nebraska.

Case has been actively reviewed since 5th of October, but talking with an agent it was moved to Potomac at some unknown time.

All I see is people getting NOA2, while I don't hear a peep. No RFE, no approval, no nothing. Just silence.

Starting to lose hope, wondering if my case got lost somehow, but can't make an official inquiry until end of September...

:(

Maybe submit some more evidence, like some photos. I heard people say there was movement on their case after submitting additional evidence. May be a rumor but I tried it. Case was approved last. May not do anything for you case but couldn't hurt.
