Is anyone know step by step instructions to get Utah Zoom marriage license to get married? Or any official phone number of Utah authority in this respect? I have a friend whose fiancé went to K-1 visa interview and consular officer gave a pre-printed letter which contains a list of documents/evidence they need to submit within certain time if they want their K-1 visa application to be processed. There are tons of those documents, and one can submit one or more...one of the documents is being asked is-evidence that you have worked out a plan to get married in the US upon coming to US...and obtaining marriage license is a great way to offer as an evidence in my opinion. Thanks

Why make plans for a Zoom marriage AFTER entering the US?  They can simply show that they have researched the requirements for a marriage license in the county where they plan to marry after the K-1 entrant arrives. Plans for a Zoom marriage could imply that they are planning to marry BEFORE entering the US.  That would immediately void any K-1 or application for a K-1.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

With all due respect, I dont think that planning for a zoom marriage AFTER enter the US or applying for zoom marriage license BEFORE entering the US could be considered a fraud or void any K-1 application. As a matter of fact, many consular officers, worldwide, are giving a sheet of paper to K-1 visa applicants to what to submit, and one of the documents is- submit evidence of planning to get married upon coming to US... Until govt. has a proof (beyond a reasonable doubt or your own testimony) that K-1 applicant has already married, there is no way K-1 visa application could be voided. Govt. can’t deny or void an application based on pure assumption especially like this one.

Further, consular officers are not looking a research for the requirement for a marriage license, rather they need a concrete evidence/proof which shows that some kinds of planning is done in order to get married AFTER coming to US...like marriage arrangements have been made...wedding invitation cards are distributed...wedding ceremony place has been booked...so does wedding reception...receipt for wedding ring purchases...like this nature...

Actually, a CO can deny a K-1 application if they think the applicant is not going to comply with the requirements of the visa.  My point was that there are plenty of ways to show evidence of planning a marriage.  Planning for a Zoom marriage after entering the US seems a little unusual to me.  Would it definitely result in a denial? no.  Could it raise questions? Yes. I would show evidence of researching marriage license requirements, costs, etc.

Go to the Utah Courts website. You can apply for marriage license on there and schedule a time for the ceremony.the marriage license is emailed real quick after it's paid for.
