After filing in the first week of March,Biometric Appointment finally came it approximately 4 months for AOS. This is in NYC where the wait is longer due to covid-19 backlog. Hopefully the work permit will come through once the Biometric is done and green card interview appointment comes through.

Biometrics is required for EAD but a biometrics appointment does not speed anything up

YMMV

It very well could and the good news it that they are speeding things up after the court ruling of hardship due to delays.

These things were sorted in less than three months before Covid. And as time progresses, it will move faster. I have attended meetings with congess representatives. I find this their intervention has moved my petition  which was moving fast but K1 interview was a two months wait. Due to the former Gov cutting back on legal immigrant since 2015.

Data show  for example, the Kenya embassy issued 50% less visa in all categories from 2015 to 2020. Congress intervention got us a snap interview in two weeks; two weeks notice. Then they requested two police C due to the pititioner living in another country, besides home country. That was impossible because the pititioner was stuck there because he had to go there for a USA visa interview and covid-19 lockdown came. And getting that in a country that's not your home can be an ordeal due to corruption. Borders were closed in and out, all over east Africa and the 🌎. With an Affidavit and letters from Airbnb hosts, and us congess representatives advocate for us, it wasn't  an issue anymore.

Visa was granted. There are exceptions if your know my how to use resources and your rights.

Congress again advocated for this Biometric interview that came through. Thank you congess representatives who work for us. Now hardship request for speedy processing are now granted if you can prove it.

There is no such thing as a biometric INTERVIEW.  Biometrics is simply fingerprints and photo

YMMV
