Hi Vjer's ,

USCIS just approved my I-130 after 9 months. I want to know how long it takes to hear from NVC and what documents does NVC require? I filed for my Mom and I learnt I will need my tax transcript and my mom's police report from her home country. But I'm not very sure. I want to start gathering the paperwork as soon as possible so any information will be appreciated.

About a week after receiving the case from USCIS.  Check here for the estimates from NVC -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

Congrats on the approval :) I'm at the finish line now. Our case had alot of goof ups with the Uscis in the beginning which greatly affected our processing times. I applied March 28th 2019 and was surprised by August we had our I-130 approval. However thats when things went down hill. My husband is in Ghana and our case should have been sent to the Embassy in Accra but they sent our case to the local office in the States, it took several calls and months before they got it straight. NVC received our case if I recall its been some time since I looked at our dates but it was I think around the end of Nov 2019. I was ready to go with all docs so that moved pretty quick. Feb 21st 2020 our case became DQ'd and I received an email stating our interview will be scheduled soon. Of course due to Covid the embassy closed March 17th and has yet to reopen on a normal basis. I am still waiting. So Nvc moved pretty quick only a couple of months with them, but just to give a heads up. I have been waiting for an interview for about a year and half now which means unless move with rapid speed, all the new filers might have to wait a few years before an interview. Hopefully not...but just a little tip so you can plan accordingly. Having a long distance marriage can be quiet tough! Hang in there though, its worth it :)
