IRS Tax returns with certified CPA letter (merged)

Hi there,

We were under the assumption that my husband did not need( was not required ) to file taxes , we now know we have to.

After my interview at the consular we are required to send them a ---tax transcript--- .

As you know a tax transcript takes around 4 months.

What is the possibility of them accepting a registered CPA letter with the returns the CPA has filed?

How do we get this done quick?

A registered CPA in the US said hat he did not need to file taxes

If he needs to file the tax return, a letter from the CPA won't be accepted. Was he not earning at all or earning much less in 2020 or prior years?

My tax transcripts were available in less than 2 weeks after filing.

I know the current financial year has ended recently, from what we hear there is now due to that a big back log there for various sources are telling us after filling his taxes he could only get his transcript within around 4 months

Earlier this year.

yeah so it could be because it was not in the time where everyone's taxes are being filed with a big back log

You don't need a certified CPA letter once you have the tax returns documents or tax return transcripts. Some embassies will push for transcripts though.

Hi, yes that is why we weighing our options, because it seems the transcript is going to take long (time we don't have)  a massive delay we wondering if by submitting the returns with evidence a certified letter from a CPA would help them accept the returns rather than asking for the tax transcript

After filing tax online. A week after we requested for tax trascripts by mail and we received 9 days later.

Yes.  My CPA electronically filed.

I filed by paper in April and it still hasn't even been processed. I called the IRS after 7 weeks of waiting and they told me to wait another 6 weeks 😩
