Hello fellow VJ members,

First I would like to thank in advance all those who answer and put forward recommendations to my questions.

My Green Card will be running out in 5 months time (A little behind I know) and I am looking to renew it rather than become a resident for the time being. I am filling out form I90 and had a few questions regarding what I should enter in some of the boxes.

1. Box 6.a. In care of name

Would I put my name in this box, even though I am completing the paperwork myself with no help?

2. Box 6.g. Province  & Box 6.h. Postal Code

Since I have a US address, am I right in saying that these boxes do not need to be filled out?

3. Part 3 Item 1.

Not real sure what to put in this box, can it be the same as Item 2, In my case I was granted adjustment of status at the USCIS California Service Center?

As always, I am a little nervous submitting forms with mistakes, Especially since I am hoping to go to England (my home country) for Christmas if all goes well under the current world situations we are currently involved in. I would imagine that if the renewed Green Card does not arrive in time for that trip, there would be some temporary documentation I would receive to be able to re enter the States? (Hopeful/Wishful thinking, I know)

I appreciate you and your time,

Thank You.

In question 1 Box 6.a.    In care of name ( simply mean if you are using someone else address that can pick up your mail, if for instance your name is not on the address, you can use the person whose name appear on the address)

question 2. just ignore anyone that is not applicable to you.... use your address and zip code and state.

  1.  If you and your spouse live at that address, then it is rightly your address and as such, you should not be listing yourself under c/o.
  2. Since you are in US, use the zip code option.
  3. This is pretty straight forward. It asks for the USCIS office that granted your initial card. I see you live in Chicago. So part (a) is where you sent your AOS papers to. I think for K-1s it is USCIS Chicago Lockbox. Or where did you send them to? Anyway, part (b) should be Chicago

Quick question.........presently, do you have a 2 year or 10 year GC?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Thanks Timona,

Really, I would put Chicago in both Part3, 1 + 2? My filing of I-751 was filed at the USCIS California Service Center.

I am renewing a 10 year Green Card.

3. Part 3 Item 1.

Not real sure what to put in this box, can it be the same as Item 2, In my case I was granted adjustment of status at the USCIS California Service Center?

Item 1: USCIS location  where you mailed your AOS (not i751)

Item 2: USCIS location who approved your AOS (not i751). Sometimes it could be the service center if approved without an interview or a local uscis field office if interviewed.

Don't want to sound stupid, although I will, How would I find that out? That was a long long time ago lol. I think I may have to go dig in my "Visa Boxes" that I have been holding onto for over a decade.
