Global Entry interview upon arrival CR1?

From what I understand, you can nowadays complete your Global Entry interview upon international arrival without the need to make an appointment. My question is whether this can be combined with an arrival on an immigrant visa. My conditional approval for Global Entry is expiring soon-ish, and my initial arrival with my CR1 will be the only international flight into the US I have planned before that date.

In case it matters, I've read in several topics that GE with a CR1 is not possible; however; while my visa does state CR1, it should be converted into IR1 upon arrival as my entry will be after our two year anniversary.

Does anyone have any experience combining the Global Entry interview with new immigrant arrival?

it does not work like that. Global entry will be a separate interview

I'm aware; I'm talking about "Enrollment on Arrival" which eliminates the need to schedule an interview but instead combines it with the normal border inspection. My question was if that is possible when my border inspection is already different. Basically; can I opt to complete enrollment while entering the US with my CR1 visa; or would I have to do so on a separate  occasion?

I've recently done my Gobal Entry interview on arrival after going through Secondary.  (I was travelling on Greencard + extension letter).  I imagine it should be similar for people arriving on a visa.

However — my instructions said to bring my entry document (passport) and "documents providing evidence of residency".  Not sure what kind of documents you would bring, as you will probably not yet have any documents for your residence in the U.S.

Thanks. Not sure if that would be required for me too as I got my Global Entry as part of a bilateral agreement between the Netherlands and the US, so US residency was never a requirement for me (I actually already have Global Entry, this interview is part of the renewal process). That being said, I do have a US phone number linked to my wife's address where I will be living, so it wouldn't be a problem if I did have to produce such a document.

I’d ask the CBP officer after they have processed your IR entry. Nothing to lose .. as it is a renewal, it is a simpler process than initial application

In that case you should be fine.  Just make sure to doublecheck your instructions.  The only other potential hickup I can think of would be if your airport were laid out differently than mine (IAD) such that you can't get to the Global Entry booth when coming out of Secondary.
