I am helping my wife get her NBI clearance from the Philippines. Our place is under the jurisdiction of the Phil. Consulate General San Francisco. We were told by the consular officer that we need to forward the finger print cards to the NBI in Manila. We still lack more information.

Has anybody here on VJ done this, at all? Is the money order from USPS acceptable in the Philippines (obviously we are not experienced with this)?

We appreciate all the advice and replies. Thank you.

I am confused. Why would you wife need an NBI clearance if you are doing the AOS? The NBI clearance is something that was done while going through the Manila embassy for your visa petition.

Thank you for the reply. I did not state that it is for her AOS, did I? No reason for confusion here. We would like to keep her records current, all records including NBI. It has expired.

I am wondering if there are other people who acquired their NBI clearance from abroad, anyone else?

And with the timeline give me some time, I am just a new member, it takes a while to dig up all the dates especially the 129F. Our file records are still with the immigration law office, and our copies are at home. Unfortunately I am out.

Sorry, I was thinking AOS because your profile shows AOS pending.

Claudeth went and got her latest police report from the NBI just before she did her interview just to make sure. She did have one that was about four months old so wanted to make sure everything was current.

Your timeline information is important because they use them for stats which is helpful for others coming behind you so if you can find those dates please do enter them.

Good luck with your petition, hope all goes smoothly

If your wife still have a copy of her old NBI clearance she can just send it with the fingerprint and they can renew it with out a problem. Yes you can send it to NBI in manila but it will take time, what i did i send my brother all the paper works that i have and ask him to submit at the NBI office in manila and not even a week i got my new NBI clearance. Goodluck!
