Hi All,

It has been awhile since I post anything on here. Does anyone know that when you moving and file the change of address at the USCIS form, how do you find out that the new address has been updated in the system or not. Do you have to also change with the Social Security office too or not?

thanks

You will need to file an AR-11 and an I-865 for the sponsorship if your spouse is the sponsor. I am not sure of a way to check on if they updated at the agency and you do not need to contact the ss administration.

After I did the online thing, uscis gives you a form that confirms you filed for the change. I guess there's no way of knowing if it was updated for sure. But at least you'll have the form to prove you did file for the change.

Hi Friends,

Thank you very much for you response. When i filed the change of address, i did it through the mail instead online. I got a receipt notice from the USCIS stated that the change has been made. I suppose this is what the proof required. However, for my wife she did not get any notification of that. Should I call the NCSC to see if the change has been effective. Since i will have to file for I-751 soon.

cheers

Hi, We sent ours before send I-751 and received NoA-1 and NoA-2 at new address. However I don't received NoA of AR-11 yet. I have heard that USCIS doesn't send NoA of AR-11, but they send NoA of I-865...that's weird  I don't know how to make sure our address has changed. I'll ask about it tomorrow (I have an appointment of Biometrics tomorrow).

Anyway...here's our Change of address time line.

■□■ Change of Address ■□■

05/04/2007 Sent I-865 through USPS (priority + delivery confirmation), Sent AR-11 via Online.

05/08/2007 TSC received I-865.

05/26/2007 Received NoA of I-865 (Notice Date 05/18/2007)...NoA of AR-11 NEVER appear and it's very weird that snail-mail is faster than Email.

And I found some information about "Changing Your Address" on SSA website.

Hi Uruma,

Thank you very much for the effortly response. I received the notice stating the change on my part but not my wife. I am not sure what NOA i received but will check on that tonight.

Please let me know about the info to where we can find out if the change has been taken place. I just want to make sure before i send in the I-751 form so that there is no confusion as to what address we currently at.

cheers

The address you put on the I-751 will be the address that they send your NOA1 to.... so I would not worry about confirming your address.... if you have sent the AR-11 and the I-865 then you have complied with the rules for updating your address....

Hi,

I have filed all the necessary paper works for the change of address when we bought our house. My concern is when they receive I-751 form, if the address on the form does not match what's on their system then the paper work might have unnecessary question and toward delay on approval.

As you may know, although you might do what you suppose to do but it only go into affect if they update in the system and any documentation associates with it.

cheers

You could always make a infopass at your local office and ask then what address they hold on system for you...

I moved in Jan 2007 and sent off the forms... I will be filing my removal of conditions next month, and I am not worried about the address thing as I will include all addresses on the form.... and they will use the address given on the form as your current address...

Good Luck

Hi, We went to ASC on the 6th. And then I asked the ASC officer about our address change and how we can make sure about it. But the ASC officer didn't know about that. I think he is the person in charge of biometrics and he can't say anything except about biometrics. I think you can make an appointment through USCIS website (INFO-PASS). However, do you remember our Change of Address time line? I received NoA-1 and NoA-2 of I-751 at our new address. I would recommend enclosing NoA of I-865 and receipt number of AR-11 (if you're going to send AR-11 online, you'll get that) with I-751.

Good luck!
