Hi Again,

If your fiance' is a US Citizen through Naturalization then he need to supply with the certificate no., the date of issuance. as well as the place of issuance. Now, if he cold not find these information then there is no other way, but to apply to have a copy of his naturalization certificate.

he was born in America and he has certificate of live born, in ur words, we can only select 40.a. and we don't have to fill the number and issuance anymore right?

thank u so much. is there any chance that u know how to fill the form online? every time i try to fill it online it will shows me i need the "password" to fill it. so i print it out. but apparently if i fill it out on paper i don't even know i can just select 40.a and there's no need for me to fill in certificate number anymore. should i use some certain App to download it? i used to download it on my iPhone.

Don't fill the form online or on the phone. The best is download the form on a computer and open the file with acrobat reader and fill in.

Hello, If you read the instructions, it ask you to select only one box.  And there are only three choices. When you stated that he was born in the United states of America in L.A then 40.a. which is birth in the United States is the answer. Anyways, Why dont you downlaod the form, print it and send it to your fiance' or ask him to go online and download the form, print, and have him asnwer or fill up the form since he is the applicant.

after i select one box " birth in the united", here comes 41:"Have u obtained a certificate of naturalization or a certificate of citizenship in ur own name?" 42a-c are asking for certificate number etc.. he has certificate of live birth, idk if that's the same with the certificate of citizenship, and if certificate number on certificate of citizenship works the same way with certificate number on certificate of live birth?

He can't do that right now, he's in jail for now, so I'll try to fill it first:)

It's not the same.  So, do not fill out a number there.

Greetings!

-I think either you are overthinking the question or you do not fully understand the meaning of naturalization.

Again, you stated that your fiance' was born in LA, USA, and have a live birth certificate, therefore he is  US Citizen by birth. He need to supply his birth certificate or a valid  and unexpired US passport to be submitted along with this application as evidence of his US citizenship.

-If you noticed in question no. 40. it ask you to select only one. It ask, if you are a US citizen by birth, by nturalization or by US citizen parents.

Now, if you answer

-40. a. by birth, then you need to supply a copy of his birth certificate or a US valid and unexpired passport to prove his citizenship.

40. b. by natualization, then you need to supply a copy of his original ceritificate of naturalization.

40. c. by US citizen parents, then you need to supply a copy of his original certificate of citizenship.

Now in your case, base upon your statement " that he was born in LA, USA and have a live birth certficate then why ar you making it so difficult.

If this is true, ( which at times I feel like it is not because you still insisted certificate numbers etc.) Anyways, If you are telling the truth that he was born in the USA then you answer

40.a. by birth ( again, be ready to have a document as evidecne of his citizenship).

-41. "Have you obtained a ceritificate of  naturalization or a certificate of citizenship in your own name"

Why would you, when you stated that he was born in the USA and not through naturalization or by US citizen parents?, So your snwer is NO.

-42. You will only answer 42. a,b.and c. only if you answer YES to question number 41.

-So when you insisted about certificate number, place of issuance, and the date of issuance, it made me think that you do not get the meaning of naturalization, On the other hand, I would highly double check and ask your fiance' of how he became a US citizen, why? because even if you told us that he was born in LA, USA and has a live birth certificate you yourself  insisted for the questions that shoud not matter if he was truly born in the USA.

I am saying this because what you choose to select above as your answer, you have to produce an evidence as it is required with this application.

Best of luck, NG
