I studied in the UK for 9 months, do I need to get a police report from the UK?? If so how do I get one?

I have a question on that. I´ve been with my parents since January. Luis and I are starting the process next week (probably). By the time I have my interview it will be July already, at which point with or without the interview I´m going back to Rio until it´s time to go to Luis.

I prolly won´t be here for 6 months when I have to order those police reports, do I still need one for here since I won´t go back to Rio till July?

I'd seriously recommend filing for your police certificate now whilst you're still with your parents. Each police certificate is valid for a year

And I do believe you need a police report/certificate from every place you've ever lived since you were 16....

Even if I´m just here for 2 months so far? They´d accept I filed for this 4 months before I might actually start to need it?

While 6 months is the standard requirement, some Embassies are different in their requirements. You need to find out what is required by the KL Consulate. Each Consulate normally has special instructions on where to get the certificate and the quidelines for what is needed.

Yes you best be safe than sorry. Many people spend ages trying to get hold of multiple police reports because they've moved so much. And yes they will accept it as long the time you need to hand it over to them is within the 12 months of its validity....

Wonder if in Brasil it will be the same valid time. Anyway, I´ll wait until aproval to start doing those. I only need it for 2 states and the federal one.

Do you need a seperate police certificate for every place that you have lived or do you just need ONE that states whether you have anything on your record for everywhere that you have lived?

At least here in Brasil we need one police certificate for each STATE we lived in for more than 6 months, ever since we were 16, and a Federal Police certificate, for the entire country.

I'm still not sure on how to go about this... I saty in Stafford town (Staffordshire), the link mention that:

Please note that we will only be able to provide you with information if you live or have lived in the Metropolitan Police area (most of London). If you live or have lived elsewhere you should apply to the Police Service which covers the region or area concerned.

I'm currently in Malaysia, not sure how can I obtain the report...
