Thanks for your reply. I have called the police but didn't file any report as there was no physical violence but more of emotional and verbal abuse. And throwing my things and forcing me to vacate my own home. But the police said my call was recorded and I don't know how to use that for VAWA. How can I get police report for that kind of abuse ? Does this lawyer charge me I'm not financially independent.

You can request the transcript of the Police call. And use that for abuse evidence. You can also seek help with Catholic Charity to start the process or you can do it your own. This group offers many help you can read the threat.... For Group lawyer fee you must DM her directly.

Hi all,

Is it common when I485 is request Ed to be held that they go and deny the I130 while waiting for 360? Will this count as a visa denial on your record and will be black mark on your file?

Thank you!

That is standard procedure to deny I-130.  The I-360 application replaces the I-130 as a petition to apply for Adjustment of Status.  It does not affect your file.

Hello everybody,

I'm hoping someone could help me out with some insighte here. If the exspouse has your A number , How much info can they get on you by writing a letter to USCIS or calling them and asking to send info related to that Anumber?

Once you file VAWA, your file is changed to protective status, so that is why no one can call or email for infomation on your file including yourself.

My husband of 8 months wants to kick me out of the home we both have our names on.

I'm 100% financially dependent on this guy. I came on a tourist visa sold my stuff back home to be married and do AOS at some point here in US. I thought we were happy and going to have a bright future together. We were planning to start our process this week.. He started to verbally and emotionally abuse always trying to blame me for everything since I'm here. Months of arguing caused my self esteem to be crippled. I don't have friends or family here. All his friends and family are on his side and They don't want to hear my side of story.. Yesterday he threw away my things and said I need to get out of his house ( both our names are on the lease). I was begging for him to calm down. Where will I go? I called the police as he was not willing to talk any sense. So the police said to him he had no right to kick me out. But now he had a new thing to say about me...'I called the police on him'. He even said I don't deserve to do the AOS and don't deserve to become a citizen like I'm beneath him.

I texted a domestic violence helpline all the while in shock this is happening to me. They said I could still do the AOS as I'm going through domestic violence.  I want to know anything about this if anyone knows. Thankyou for reading . Sorry for the sad post. I'm still I'm shock as I really love him but he apparently doesn't so he treats me this way.

For your safety it is best that you find a local shelter and supports from them.  It is not something you want, but trust me from my experience they are life saving.
