Hi, no I dont live in Vermont, I live in Astoria Queens NY, should my local office be Queens NY, or Manhattan NY?

Thanks I will contact my congressman

Your processing time for the I-485 doesn’t officially start until your case reaches your local office after wava approval. So if your wava was approved in march/2020 it can take a couple weeks or a couple minths to reach your local office. So look up the processing time for your local office, not Vermont, and base on that.

08/2017 - Married USC

09/2017 - Application for I-485, I-765, I-131

12/2017 - Approval  I-765, I-131

09/2018 Renewal application for I-765, I-131

04/2019 - I-485 interview scheduled

04/2019 - I-485 denied, husband withdrew

05/2019 - Application for  I-360, I-485, I-765, I-131

12/2019 EAD, AP approval

07/2020 EAD, AP renewal sent to Vermont

10/2020 EAD, AP Approval

11/2020 VAWA I-360 Approved (C31 produced)

01/2021 I-360 status changed to case approved

03/2021 - I-693 deficient notice from national benefit center

Hello Friends,

I haven't received any notification since March. How does the case transfer work do they update on USCIS site or just by mail ????

Am getting worried now if iv missed any mail from NBC.     Please help @Sarah @Stillwinning

1st Update

On March 18, 2021, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by April 17, 2021, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

2nd Update

In order to speed up your process we transferred your application to NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER 648005 LEE'S SEMMIT MO  64064.

Once the case is transferred to NBC you don't receive any updates. NBC makes sure you have all the correct paperwork if your missing any usually birthpaper they will send you an RFIE for it. Once everything is there it goes to your local office and put in queue for interview/ final decision, if you did not submit your medicals yet you will receive an RFE for them. If you want to know exactly where the case is at this point you have to contact your congressman.

Hello dear community please help me with advice, vawa case approved on march 2020, filed i485 in Dec 2018, on the uscis processing time website the i485 in vt service is already in April 2019 meaning my i485 is out of processing time for 4 months, I already sent e request and received a letter saying I should write to the VT service, which I did in April but haven't got any response, what can I do to speed up my i485? what ideas can you share with me, when would it be feasible to file a mandamus

I filed mine Sept 2018, I’ve asked for AOC’s help and Sen Gillibrand, 🤷🏽‍♀️. No updates whatsoever with I-485. I’m from Queens too

@Optimistic1986 when didyou get your vawa approved? My vawa was approved on march 2020, filed i485 on dec 2018, I was told to check on the uscis pocessing time website for i485 st albans vt office, in that office it is alread 4 months past due, I was also told to check 1485 at my local office, I dont know if that is Manhattan or Queens, I live in Queens, but I was told to check on a uscis website which is my field offfice by typing my zipcode and it showed it is Manhattan.

If any one has any ideas on which would be my field office please let me know, I havent seen any update on my i485 since march 2019 that it says "fingerprints were taken on march 19 2019"  I havent seen that the case has been approved or transfered to a local office, please help

My VAWA was approved last July 2020 and my case was filed Sept 2018. The attached file below was the email I’ve received after my lawyer inquired about my case on Oct 2020. So that means it was transferred on April 2020 to local office right?? And at Manhattan? But my lawyer says it will be in Queens. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

No that's actually called the Brooklyn office, so when you check the processing time make sure to look for i-485 and Brooklyn NY.
