Until you have your advanced parole in hand, please do not travel. Else your case will be considered abandoned and you will not be allowed in the US.
Do enlist the help of your congress person in inquiring on your behalf about your travel document. God speed!

Hello Everyone, my journey has been one filled with highs and lows, tears, fake “I am ok’s”, wth’s and I thank God that I got my approval finally and I just want to encourage someone here today not to lose hope. Hang on to the last ounce of strength you got within you because, eventually your sunrise is coming. Here’s my timeline. I reside in Dallas.

Filed my 360, I-765 and I-131 in 05/2019 for my Vawa case.

I have renewed my work permit like 4 times and the last one which I did late last year took some time, but overall, I cannot say I experienced a delay that kept me out from work.

My I-485, I-130, I-765 and I-131 that I had filled with my Ex were still open, but no action was taken with these cases till the last minute after my approval where the I-485 status changed to “Case Closed Benefit Received By Other Means.”

My I-360 was approved in Jan 2021.

I got my “interview was scheduled” for the I-485 that I filed with the Vawa case at the end of the month in 04/2021.

I got another "Interview was scheduled” for the I-485 case I had initially filed with my ex, that was just on hold in mid-May; 05/2019.

My interview was scheduled for the beginning of June this year; 06/2021 for the Vawa

Another interview was also scheduled for the initial I-485 with my ex for mid-June; 06/2021 which we told the IO we will not be perusing and won’t show up for the said interview later that month when I went in for my Vawa interview. The IO said that will be cancelled automatically after the Vawa I-485 was approved.

I waited for the whole of June, July and at the end of August 08/2021, my case was finally approved. The wait for this approval was heartbreaking. We even submitted a letter to ask what the delay was all about, but received no response.

My interview was pretty short, all we did was submit my medicals and update the I-485 responses.

My card was delivered mid-September; 09/2021.

I hope this helps someone. Remember to be still and let God do his will. It may tarry, but your approval is coming too.

Blessings! ❤️

Congratulations 🍾🎈

You are in India with approved EAD and AP? US govt announced plan to lift travel restrictions for vaccinated people in November, date not yet announced. You will need documentation or evidence for vaccination. Other option is to travel to say Mexico and stay there for 2 weeks to quarantine, then they will allow you to come in to USA from there with advance parole.

Divorced US citizen spouse in December 2017.

Filed I-360 on Nov 12, 2019

Filed I485/ C31 EAD / AP in Feb 2020 (Stupid lawyer filed C31 instead of C9, and I didnt know EAD codes, didnt know about this VJ forum either)

On H1b status since 2014, H1b 6 years expired in May 2020. Out of status / Period of authorized stay since then.

Amended EAD petition to C9 and filed expedite request for same in mid-may 2020.

C9 EAD approved June 4, 2020.

Biometrics done in Oct 2020.

I485 case transferred to NBC for "faster processing" on September 30, 2020

Filed C9 EAD / AP Renewal petition in February 2021.

Initial Advance Parole (from Feb 2020 application) approved in June 2021.

C31 EAD production update - Nov 1st, 2021.

C31 card delivered to attorney's office on Nov 8, 2021.

I-360 case approved status update - Nov 22, 2021.

No RFE throughout.

Senator's office confirmed via congressional inquiry that the St. Louis office has received the I485 file and is currently awaiting interview scheduling - March 7, 2022

C9 EAD renewal card production case update - July 20, 2022 (took them just 17 months to process)

C9 EAD / AP renewal approval case update on both cases on July 21, 2022.

Combo card delivered to attorney's office on July 27, 2022

Medical exam RFE Drama: Second congressional inquiry sent in early July 2022 for I485. USCIS responded on 8/12/22 to this congressional inquiry that they issued an RFE on 5/24/22 and were waiting for my response. My lawyer denied receiving RFE and there was no such update on online USCIS portal. Lawyer's old firm was safe mailing address on my case. Lawyer changed firms a year after I hired her but did not change mailing address for my case with USCIS, she said she had a deal with her old firm to forward all her clients' mail to her new firm. Old firm denied receiving RFE. Sent another congressional inquiry requesting copy of RFE on 8/17/22. I also got medical exam done on 8/17/22 as I assumed RFE was for medical exam (thanks for this forum's insights.) Yelled at lawyer and threatened her with dire consequences. On 8/18/22 my lawyer's old firm finally found scanned copy of RFE in their "archived scans" (whatever the duck that is) and emailed it to me. It was indeed RFE requesting medical exam. On 8/20/22 I mailed medicals sealed packet with copy of RFE to St. Louis field office. Also sent a notarized letter with the packet - updating safe mailing address to my home address and informing St. Louis field office that I fired my lawyer. Sent similar letter to Vermont Service Center on the same date.

8/23/22 - Fedex confirmed delivery of medicals packet to St. Louis Field Office.

8/26/22: Case update on I485: New Card Is Being Produced

8/29/22:  On August 29, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

9/3/22 green card delivered to attorney's office (they didn't change safe mailing address despite my written requests to FO AND VSC.)

9/6/22 VSC returned AR11 and my letter requesting safe mailing address change. In their letter they said something to the effect of "you can do this online, we wont do it via snail mail request etc." Just posting as an FYI, its weird. Also received I485 approval notice on the same date.

Dear community members, I need help from people with experience similar to mine. I have pending I-360 (nov 2019) and I485 (feb 2020) with approved C9 EAD and advanced parole. Was previously on H1b which expired last year in may 2020. Resumed working after EAD was approved in June 2020. Got new H1b approved for consular processing in January 2021, AP was finally approved in June 2021 (delay due to my lawyer's mistakes, cost me so much time and money). Now I am afraid to leave the country to get H1b consular processing done in mexico city even though I have AP approved. none of the lawyers I talk to can give me a reasonable answer if its safe to get h1b consular processing done. Does anybody have experience with this? What happens to I485 and I360 if I leave the country? Is this a viable option to get back on valid status? Or should I wait till I360 is adjudicated?

Side issue: current EAD expired in June 2021, EAD renewal petition was sent in Feb 2021, enquired last week through senator, no response yet from vermont. I am good to work due to automatic 6 month EAD extension till november end.
