Since May2021 it was updated with fingerprints been applied. Also I contacted my congressman  that was after they reach to them that the case got updated with fingerprints applied. The last update from the congressman’s office was that it is at it’s completion of extensive background checks. This is driving me crazy.

Oh, I am sorry to hear that..hopefully, they will be done with that soon!

I am really curious  how does the whole background check process work. Don’t they run the check while adjudicating VAWA? I’ve been under the impression that they have to have everything on file already hmmm..

Hi guys! It seems that the EAD cards taking longer too. I applied for mine on 5/5/2021 and still didn’t get it. I got a receipt letter that allows me to work for now but reading all previous posts it looks like it might take a year now. This is extremely frustrating. Hope I won’t have to have a gap in employment again. Good luck everyone!

I feel so depressed right now , i sent in renewal for my EAD december 2020. when i was on my extension i had to ask my congressman for help, he responded back that they were backlogged and Vermont was approving EADs for September , back in june, i inquired again and he stated still on september approval by August i inquired again , still on september 2020 approvals. I explained i will face hardship as my employer has began to request for update on my EAD. The out of processing time will not let me submit a request until 09/28/2021 . Only after that did i see an update that it was assigned to an office to give a response why my EAD is taking very long. I sent in another request to my congressman again to inquire why it is taking this long. waiting on their response. My employer will ask me to stop on 10/17/2021and my driver license will expire at that time too.  which is not their fault and i do understand, no company wants to be penalized . This is so very frustrating and mentally draining. I cannot concentrate at work.

my uscis account does not update , i just get correspondences in the mail on my cases. I have chatted with live agents , they only see what i see (old updates) and say it is a known issue and Uscis is working to fix it. I sent in rfe for medicals , the system does not update if it was received, i keep checking my uscis account as if my breath depends on it . i just wish the sytem can be a little faster for us all.

Mazi i am so sorry about it.

I do not think you can fax to vermont since you have VAWA.

I would say reach out to your senator and ombudsman.

In addition to that get a letter from your employer and mail those to USCIS.

Good luck!

Does anybody with pending I360 has a business? Was wondering about EIDL loan... Have a 2 year EAD and a business for many years etc etc. Does anybody have any experience with SBA and EIDL loans and stuff with our current situation? After reading all documents on SBA website says that we might qualify but need real life experience actually

Thanks

It’s so weird that my vawa approval notice says B21, but I got my gc BX6. I am confused again… one of them must be wrong….😢

That's normal and let me try to explain.

Your approval notice will always read either IB1 (if spouse is a USC) or B21 (if spouse is an LPR). Then the possible category codes on GC you can receive are as follows:

IB1 - Spouse is a USC, you got an immigrant visa from a consulate abroad

IB6 - Spouse is a USC, you adjusted status in US

B21 - Spouse is an LPR, you got an immigrant visa from a consulate abroad, the visa number you got was subject to per country cap

B26 - Spouse is an LPR, you adjusted in US, the visa number you got was subject to per country cap

BX1 - Spouse is an LPR, you got an immigrant visa from a consulate, the visa number you got was exempt from the per country cap

BX6 - Spouse is an LPR, you adjusted status, the visa number you got was exempt from the per country cap

Literally the only thing the category code does is tell you how this green card was issued. It does not need to match what's on the approval notice for the I-360.

If you got adjusted status and got something completely unrelated like idk SR7 (Spouse of religious worker, adjusted status), that's when you should be concerned.

ANY 1 knows if chicago office does issue rfe for medicals for vawa and straight approval?

- just having a feeling they do interviews only...

i might be wrong tho.

any 1?

Honestly I know quite a few people in Chicago - all of them had interview but no bad experience at all. Easy peasy. A friend of mine is still waiting for an interview in Chicago - as of right now - more than 2 years...

August 19’ - Applied combo 360/485

March 21’ -RFE sent (bona fide + cohabitation)

May 21’ - RFE responded

September 21’ - New card is being produced

Hi our timelines are pretty similar. I applied in August 2019 n got approved in end of April 2021. There is still no update on my i485 . No RFE for medicals either. No transfer notice. I did send my medicals with my initial package too so I don’t know if they going to ask for new medicals or not. Lot of people here say that it’s absolutely fine not getting notice for transfer or anything else. They are just bad at updating stuff. So yeah we r in the same boat. Hope we hear something soon
