Hello all,

I am curious , if appointment letter is required in consulate at the time of interview?! ( immigrant visa , IR-5);If yes, is it possible to get a print from our online NVC account?! Will they upload it in CEAC .gov in addition to mail it?!

I am planning to go back to Iran as soon as I heard my dad petition has been “ Documentary Qualified “ DQ!!! So we can wait there till Abu Dhabi consulate give the green light to NVC!!! The corresponding address is here in USA where I live now!! I assume my dad NVC online account will have the necessary correspondence also uploaded once they approved?! Please correct me if I am wrong… the 4 weeks notice for interview won’t be enough for me to get from usa to Iran and the to Abu Dhabi… I am confused & worried.

please help…

thanks AG

Speaking from the perspective of IR-1/CR-1, we got an email with our appointment information and printed out that email. You can print stuff from the NVC, but the email should be fine. I was in Ireland and had my permanent address (where all correspondence was mailed) in the US, so it shouldn't be an issue that you only have access to email/NVC while you're away from your US address. I am assuming that the IR-5 process is similar enough to the IR-1/CR-1 process (for spouse).

On a semi-related note, with the way COVID has delayed everything, you might be waiting longer than you anticipate from the time of being DQ'd to your interview.

Good luck.

Thank you neca, big sigh of relief!! It is supposed to be like that….I agree about COVID back log will cause delay between DQ’d and interview date notification, this is the time I will be waiting in Iran next to my dad being ready to take him to UAE… but my main concern is the time between you will be notified that you have the interview date and the actual interview itself!!! As far as I understand from others, this will be solid 3-4 weeks which would be barely enough to get from Iran to Abu Dhabi considering it requires UAE visa, flight, COVID screening….I appreciate any suggestions from anyone… thanks…
