Hi all. I cant find anything on this at all in these forums. Interview was on the 7th of June. All the CO said was that he hadnt made a decision but he kept my passport and gave me nothing. I did not get any letter from him. Not a 221g AP letter nor the rejection letter. I just checked the CEAC website, and it says the below, ive seen in the AP forums that 'refused' can change, im not sure how that works? This was updated the day of my interview so im not stuck on it as it doesnt make sense to deny the visa and keep my passport. I havent gotten any communication from them. Anyone know what it means lol, im totally thrown off by not getting the 221g or any letter from the CO??? This is for an F1. Returning to complete the last year of my degree after 6 years. TIA

Read the fine print at the bottom.  This is normal.  All cases go through a period of administrative processing before being issued or denied.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Right but as i mentioned I wasnt given the usual 221g which informs an applicant that their application is going to AP. Thats where im getting stumped.

ALL cases go through a period of Administrative Processing.  If a visa is not issued on the same day as the interview, they are technically "Refused" until all processing has been completed and a final decision made. Not all cases receive a 221g.
