Passport Application and Travel Stamp in Passport

Quick question that someone may be able to help with

I have my citizenship interview on July 20th and its my understanding that the local office are doing the oath there and then to avoid a crowd at a ceremony

 

I am due to travel to Ireland on August 11th

 

I will be applying for my new US passport immediately but will still hold my Irish one. My issue is that my Green card will be handed in at the interview/Oath taking and i cant travel on my Irish passport without a stamp/green card

 

I also wont have an original cert of naturalization due to US passport application

 

So my options are

• Get stamp in passport
• Don't take oath and hold my Green Card and await a ceremony appt
• Don't apply for US passport right away and hold my Naturalization cert till I return 9will still need stamp I think)

Any suggestions

Not an option, once taking oath, you are a USC, no longer an LPR.

After oath you are a USC whether you apply for the passport or not, you need to use the US Passport while entering the US.

1.  There is no "US citizen stamp"

2.  Viable option

3.  See #1.

After you take the oath of US citizenship, you will have to exit and enter the US with a US passport.

Once you take Oath, you are a US Citizen, must hold the US passport to enter into US.

Well that answers my question. Don't take oath, travel with my Green Card and Irish passport and await Oath appt

One option is to try your luck at a passport agency for the expedited application.

for fast passports in Atlanta 

go to the site and read as it says for travel within 72 hours out of the country

OR  

copy the naturalization paper to travel with u    / leave original here at your home as you will need it later to apply for the US passport

and travel with Ireland passport
