Talking to an actual person at USCIS

I am recently having some problems obtaining my SSN with the SSA claiming that the case is till sitting with the DHS/USCIS I need to talk to the USCIS about this before the SSA will do anything.

Is there anyway of talking to an actual person about this at USCIS I have read other threads with similar issues.

When I call the contact number (800) 375-5283  there does not appear to be an option to talk to a human and the automation does not cover the issue I have so will not transfer me to a representative.

Hopefully some come help as the stress of not having my SSN while I have job offers waiting is making the whole immigration experience awful.

After calling USCIS, ask for "technical assistance" at each prompt.  That will connect you to a human..... but I wouldn't expect a lot of help from USCIS regarding a SSN.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Sometimes the issue is the SSA does not find your exact name in the SAVE database so SSA sends it off to DHS for manual verification which could take weeks. The database is populated by a scan of your passport. If that scan enters you as JOHNPAUL SMITH instead of JOHN PAUL SMITH, then you have a hiccup in your SSN issuance. Look at your I-94 and see if any of your names are run together or missing.  I’m not sure calling USCIS will help.
