Amazing but true,,,green card in hand in four months from entry on K-1 Visa for my wife!!!We also recieved an approval notice that stated a green card would be sent valid for 10 years...still waiting for that one, but my wife has her 2 year card now. Just curious, can we file for citizenship 3 years from now or is it 3 years after recieving her card after the restrictions are lifted?? Thanks and best wishes to all!!!......

Congrats!

Read that letter again. Your wife has a 2 year green card, and she needs to apply to remove the conditions (90 days before the card expires) before she gets the 10 year card. There is no "automatic" sending out of a 10 year card.

She can apply to be a US citizen 3 years after she becomes a legal permenant resident, which is the date on the 2 year card.

We had our's in 2 months...4.5 year overstay on a tourist visa :D They are getting slightly better, depending on the office, unless you get stuck in name check.

You have to file to remove conditions 90 days before the expiry date on the green card. That is what gets her the 10 year card.

We (she I should say) recieved 2 welcome to the USA letters. The first stating she would be recieving her card in the mail valid for 10 years, next she recieved a welcome letter stating she would recieve a card valid for 2 years. She recieved the 2 year green card so maybe the first letter was just an error...

Yes, I would say that the first one is an error.
