We have our K1 interview in Mumbai June 25th. I have been living in India the last 2 years on a volunteer employment visa, which means I have not been able to legally receive a salary. (Lived on savings.) Due to this, we are using my step-dad as a joint sponsor. He meets the 125% poverty guideline without an issue.

Now that we are moving back to the USA, I have a job lined up to start mid-July that more than meets the income requirements. I'm filling out my own i-134 (as the petitioner) and I'm wondering what I should write in Section 3, #3, "My annual income is:_____" Should I list my salary listed on my job offer that will begin in July? Should I leave it blank? Should I include the employer information at all in section 3?

Just not sure the best practice in this situation!

Yes, obviously. Unique situation that doesn't fit the typical process, so was just looking for advice!

You are unemployed (so no employer information in Part 3) and your annual income is zero if you are signing the form before you start working with your new employer.

Do you have income from your savings?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
