So an updated, I submitted my last documents on 25th May, They reviewed everything today.

But they still want more income verification. So it seemed like they took two weeks to review mine.

Now I'm stuck again for another 2-3 weeks. Good luck!

Oh thanks, this gives me so much hope! I'm sorry that you have another wait but at least it seems to be only 2-3 weeks. Good luck!

Possibly a system glitch.  Call NVC to reiterate that you already submitted your 2020 transcript and that you are using assets to qualify.

Another member got the same review note as described in the thread below.  Although their situation is different from yours, they got confirmation from NVC that there is a known system issue involving that particular note --

Just to let you guys know, I have updated this thread with the outcome.

We are now documentarily qualified, we did not submit further documents. We phoned the NVC who created a 'supervisor referral' and about a week later it was sorted with no further action from us needed. It was simply a glitch/error on their end.

Good luck all!

I got same note today

”please submit every 2020 W-2/1099 form”. But I do not have these as I only have oversea income. Another note said, I do not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted”

so, I still need to submit w-2/1099 form? Or just submit I864 from joint sponsor?

I had these same notes. I called the NVC call center and was told to upload an explanation of why I don't have a W-2/1099, but still label it as a W-2 in the NVC system. I wrote a letter stating that I was responding to the review note dated X, and that I did not have any W-2 or 1099 forms for 2020 because I received no US income in 2020. I also used the letter as an opportunity to respond the note about the joint sponsor by reiterating that I intend to use assets to fulfil the I-864 financial requirements. But if you are uploading a joint sponsor I-864 that is probably not necessary. Good luck!

Hello, we are in the same situation were we just got the same message to upload W2/1099 even though my husband works overseas so doesn't have either.

Can you confirm if it was enough with sending a letter explaining why? We were thinking of uploading payslips or tax revenue here in Sweden but it's in Swedish so not sure how helpful it would be.

I'd appreciate so much your response on this since I want to avoid going back and forth with this (already took 2 months to get the docs reviewed in the first place) @EKT

Hi, the explanation was enough for us and we received the DQ email at the next review (a painful 2 months later!). I asked NVC about payslips and was told they were not necessary.

My theory is that the W-2/1099 request comes if you include overseas income on the I-864. It might also happen if you submitted a copy of the tax return instead of the IRS transcript. He can request a copy of his transcript online, although you need a US credit account and mobile number to register so this was impossible for me having lived overseas for years. My sister in the US was able to get hers online the same day. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

In the end we just provided the explanation and that was enough. It's think it's also worth a try calling NVC to explain in case they can flag your case for a supervisor to check but they didn't in our case. Good luck!
