I am USA citizen by birth but have been living in Canada with 3 kids for last 12 years. Please advise what I need to do in order to obtain US citizenship for my kids.

All you need to know about whether you qualify to pass on US citizenship to your kids is here -- https://ca.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/child-family-matters/birth/transmit-citizenship/

If you do not qualify, there are other paths to citizenship for your kids.  But for now, start by reading about CRBA.

Do you intend moving to the US?

Well that is back to front, you can certainly sponsor them as a US Citizen.

You’ll have to petition them via i130s (to get immigrant visas) and show demonstrable intent to domicile in the US - Canada is very strict on that. If they are under 18 and you have custody they will become citizens after they enter on their immigrant visas; you also won’t need an affidavit of support if this is the case.

I assume your husband is the biological father of your kids?  Are you still married?  If so, does your husband also plan to move to the US?  Or, if you are no longer married, do you have proof that you have legal custody of your children?

So you have your children and your husband to sponsor. Presumably your husband is not a USC.

that's right … is it possible to obtain citizenship for kids first and later sponsor my husband

or advice what would be the right approach in my case

No, your kids can not obtain US citizenship before your entire family moves to the US.

You will need to file separate I-130 for your husband and kids.  Once your children enter the US on immigrant visas, they will automatically become US citizens.  Your husband will get a green card.  This is the right approach in your case.

Do you mean that you want to acquire US citizenship for your kids while your family lives in Canada, then move to the US only after the kids have US passports?  If so, that's possible only if at least one of your parents is a US citizen and has 5 years or more of physical presence in the US, with 2 years after age 14.  Do either of your parents qualify?

I gave it to you. Your children need to get immigrant visas and enter the US before they become citizens because you don’t meet the requirements to pass citizenship on.
