I called the JM embassy just now. Got a prompt response. No IVR. I was advised that they are clearing up the backlog in Jamaica and once that is done, the NVC will send the cases they have there waiting. Based on her conversation, It would seem they've been working the cases and increasing the number of cases they interact with. I can't speak to any category but the individual mentioned that they are working on all IV cases and that they are almost through clearing the JM backlog. That is sorta good news but still such a long way to go. I'm really trying my best to be patient but it has been eight years. My goodness. I don't know about anyone else, but this process has affected my mental health a great deal and I am just ready for the silver lining.

Lord knows that NVC backlog is going to be another hurdle but I would still prefer to hear that they have moved on to it. Sigh tears

Once you have been DQ'd then you are done.  NVC is just waiting on JA to send them interview dates and then they will schedule your interview and send your file to Kingston.

Yes, I'm aware. But even so, it's still a long wait. I've been DQ'd eight months now. Many others have been for much longer. What would ease my anxiety is information every step of the way and I'm sure I won't get that. Like how much closer are they to clearing the JM backlog - Will it take the rest of the year to get through the backlog locally? - How quickly they'll be able to get through the new cases when they arrive from the NVC? and so many other questions. So while I am done, yes, it is now more painful to wait when I (we) got so close to finally being done with an unnecessarily drawn out process. Before the pandemic, it normally took about, on average, two-three months to get an interview. Now all of that is out the window.

Trust me, this waiting is the worst part of the process for me. Not the money, not the running up and down to get the documents, this. Complete lack of communication from the embassy and having to guess based on other people's posts what they're doing is just horrible. Some embassies will put on their website what DQ dates they're currently processing. Meanwhile our embassy has a live session every month and provides absolutely no information whatsoever. Why bother even have a customer service number when they're useless? I really can't wait till I don't have to deal with them anymore.

Right? Sigh It is painful. Ready to move on with my life.

Resource btw: It sorta helped me with coming to terms that it is a lengthy wait but also knowing-ish where I am in the line makes it easier to deal with. I think. According to this, NVC is working on DQ cases from late (oct-dec)2019. Which could be accurate because I do know someone who DQ'd December 2019 and hasn't got her appointment yet. She was likely next up before the pandemic hit us last March. I'll let you all know when she gets her interview appointment.

Congrats! All the best moving forward. You only got one month's notice for the interview?

I recieved less than a month notice regarding the interview. My husband went but couldn't go into the embassy bc of the 14 quarantine. His friend went with the kids. Now it's a waiting game on the visa. Pray DHL email us soon.

What was their DQ date? And what was their visa category?

I see. Funny enough, I got this 60 day letter as well Sunday night it seems. Woke up this morning to it. It is one of a few more to come I believe. We shall wait and see.

Agree, I've come to the conclusion that the letters cannot be used to gauge where they are in the process. I have seen a number of persons who are in the same category and their Dq dates being far apart have received the same 60 days letter.
