Naples K1 visa medical vaccinations

After waiting almost 3 months since my fiance sent in all the papers saying he is ready for the interview in Naples. The appointment is set for 3 week in July. My question is that my fiancee is not too keen on taking unneccessary shots. How does this work out - he has to prove he had taken all the required vaccinations ( which ones?). If not, he has to take them there and there? Can his visa be held up because of some missing vaccine? Does he get the visa on the second day or not? Please - please help!!

Vaccination Requirements All applicants for immigrant visas are required to have the following vaccinations, if appropriate, for age, medical condition, or medical history:

• Mumps
  
• Measles
  
• Rubella
  
• Polio
  
• Tetanus and diptheria toxoids
  
• Pertussis
  
• Influenza type B
  
• Hepatitis B
  
• Varicella
  
• Pneumococcal
  

As a fiancé(e), you are not required to fulfill this requirement at the time of your medical examination for a fiancé(e) visa. However, you may want to do so. These vaccinations are required when you adjust status following your marriage.

If he has a record of these he can show them at the time of his medical so they can give him the missing shots. If he does not have any records the panel physcian will determine which shots he needs. He will have to give a blood sample for an HIV test as well and chest xrays to rule out TB.

Yes they can hold up issuing a visa if he does not meet the requirements from his medical. Not sure of the issuing time at this consulate but some have a courrier deliver them a few days after thier interview if their name checks have come back clean.

Thanks for the exhaustive answer.

My fiance does in fact intend to do some bloodwork before he leaves to prove he has had the MMR shots.

Did not think of doing it for the other ones though. He will have a letter from hs doctor basicaly listing most of the shots he has had. Hope they will accept it. Also, he once travelled to the US to work in a Camp and he still has the signed copy of that application in which the doctor listed what shots he took. Hopefully that too might help.

I only worry that things get screwed up at the last minute cos he has to wait around for some bloodwork or shots.

I'm keepting my fingers crossed.
