Hi. I am new to this.   My I-129 was approved back in mid April.  I received a notice of approval 797 letter.  The letter said my case was sent to the NVC and will be sent to the embassy in Haiti. I have not heard anything since April and I am not sure if I need to do anything else.  Can anyone explain what's next?  The approval letter said it should be 30 days before we get an appointment but I have not heard or received anything.  Next week will be 2 months waiting.  Thanks

The pandemic has caused a massive delay at NVC for most all consulates.  There are people waiting who have been in line a LOT longer than you,  so you could be waiting many more months. Patience or a lawsuit are your only avenues.

You might want to check the regional forum here to see other cases for Haiti.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

They will only forward the case to Haiti if there are processing petitions. I think Haiti is currently working on the backlog from last year so you might be in for a long wait period. Meanwhile you can track your case online at the CEAC website and that will let you know for sure when your case gets sent to the embassy

Yes but when I try to track it there it says my information does not match.   I only have my original receipt number and nothing else.  I'm not sure if that's what I need.

You need the DOS case number.  Call NVC to get it.

My case took 2 months to be touched by NVC since they received it from USCIS. Some cases take long, some are fast...

I ended up calling them because my time frame to hear anything from NVC was just up, so as soon as I called and spoke to them, things started to move within the hour.

My whole NVC process took 4 months. Good luck!

Once you receive your notice of approval, it be forwarded to NVC, when they have done their bit and your US Embassy is ready, they will forward your case to the Embassy. You should receive a letter from the Embassy when they are ready to interview you.

I contacted the NVC today. I had to wait over an hour.  Our case was approved and sent to them in mid April and we have not heard anything since.   The agent advised my file is still with the NVC and has not been sent to haiti because haiti is currently NOT Issuing any K1 visas.  Has anyone else been told this??

Welcome to 2020/2021.

Read the multiple threads. Find specific info about your consulate. Read (and read) before ask. And be very patient.
