Let me try a different way. Here's a partial list of Republicans whose politics I absolutely loathe:

Mitch McConnell
Chris Christie
Scott Walker
Marco Rubio
Liz Cheney

I don't like their politics, but neither do I consider them stupid people. And in fact, I'd say at least a few on this list are very bright. It's a shame to me that they've reached the conclusions they've reached, but intelligence doesn't predictably correlate with politics, left or right.

I would expect that you guys would feel similarly, but I don't know. That's why I'm asking the question. What is it that makes AOC dumb? Because whether I like her politics or not (yes, I mostly do), I don't see anything to demonstrate that she's a dumb person.

"Defund the police" is a terrible marketing strategy. I can see why you'd be confused. I was too, initially.

Defund the police doesn't mean abolish the police. What it means is reallocating or redirecting funding away from the police department to other government agencies funded by the local municipality.

This has actually worked very well where it's been implemented. Cambden, NJ, for example.

(yes, you can point to extremists who want police abolished and have zero police. That's why they're called extremists. This is not what AOC is advocating for)

Again, you don't like her politics and that's fine. You've chosen her stance on policing as an example of why you and others here say she is "dumb" and low IQ. And yet, based on this, the best you can say of her is that she is naive to the realities of policing. So I am just trying to understand what it is she has said or done that makes you believe she is not an intelligent person.

Yeah, you say that, but we also have her words, and I think you are giving her too much credit for understanding the nuances.  Using her stance on policing was just one of the examples I gave.  It is interesting your are not defending her utterly idiotic GND(socialism) plan.  You keep fixating on the entire intelligence thing, not really sure why, I don't ever remember saying she was unintelligent, but if you have an example, feel free to share it..  She says stupid things as I have shown (there are many more examples, feel free to utilize your favored search engine), but intelligent people often say stupid things, heck, look at what Old Joe often says.

Two examples to your direct question, The Green New Deal in total, and "When people ask me 'What does a world where we defund the police look like?', I tell them it looks like a suburb.".    As far as her being in the spotlight, I do not want her to ever go away.  Giving her accolades for her accomplishments is fine, but putting her on a pedestal and allowing her to force her socialist ideals is wrong.

Top quote was a response to my question "why is AOC stupid"? You gave two examples, so I have to infer just from that post alone that because you provided examples of why she's dumb, you therefore believe she's dumb. If you don't believe she's dumb (just naive or misguided or whatever), you could just clarify and I won't direct these questions directly at you anymore. (and if I've mis-attributed your position on AOC's intelligence, my apologies.)

"Utterly idiotic GND (socialism) plan" may indeed be a terrible plan, but it says nothing about AOC's intelligence. For example, I believe Mitch McConnell's opposition to an investigation into the Jan 6th insurrection to be "idiotic" but I don't believe Mitch McConnell to be dumb or an idiot.

I provided examples of stupid things she has said.  It is what it is.  Like I said way back, I have no desire to see her silenced.  The more of AOC in the media, the better.

I'm trying not to put words in your mouth, because I don't like it when other people do it to me. But if I understand your argument, you're basically saying AOC is stupid because her politics/policies are stupid.

If that's not what you're saying, cool. But if you could clarify, it would be appreciated.

If that is what you're trying to say, then how does intelligence ("dumb", "stupid") correlate with politics/policies? Because presumably people who agree with your politics are "smart" and people who oppose your politics are "dumb." Or at least that's what I gather. Again, not trying to put words in your mouth. Just trying to understand how these things relate.

Don't expect them to have an answer to that question - they are just mindlessly braying according to the instructions of right wing media. they are stupider than the person they criticize and they don't even realize it

This is what puzzles me.

AOC is the perfect example of a core conservative value. Pulled herself up by her bootstraps, took a blue collar job to put herself through school, became a congressperson. Yeah, you may not like her politics but the number of times I've seen her dismissed as "just a stupid bartender" is bizarre. Like, Republicans don't like blue collar workers all of a sudden? Are we retconning Joe the Plumber as "just a stupid plumber" now?

OTOH, Boebert is an example of everything Republicans stand against. Her politics may be Trumpy, but she grew up on food stamps, she was on food stamps as an adult, was arrested for driving recklessly (plead down from drunk driving), and then married and started a restaurant using her husband's money. Which failed, so she started another one. And then 80 people got food poisoning.

This is why I keep saying the Republican party has lost its core values.

I am not a Republican, so I could not care less about that Party's core values.  The fact that you rail against that side, and don't recognize the blatant racism, and division by the Democrats is really quite telling.  You keep saying AOC should be put on a pedestal, so why not put her on that pedestal.  Jeff Bezos is also a great example of someone who "pulled themselves up by their bootstraps", and yet you were railing against him in another thread.  Whatever, it is what it is, AOC is simply just another politician that won an election in a deep blue district where no one from the other side runs.  She will be in Congress probably as long as she wants and eventually take over the leadership of the Democrat Party.  Good for them, we need more failed socialism in this world.

If it makes you feel better, at least I understand that the three branches of government are not the House, the Senate, and the Presidency.

If it makes you feel better.

It seems nobody's a Republican here. But your talking points echo Republican talking points to the letter. So if I say "Republican" you can just assume I'm talking about conservatives. I'll try to be more targeted in the future though.

Never said AOC should be put on a pedestal. I said AOC is mocked by core conservatives as a "dumb bartender," despite support of blue collar workers being a core conservative value. I try as hard as I can to not misrepresent your arguments, I would appreciate you doing the same.

You think Jeff Bezos is a point in your favor, but it actually just proves my point. The only negative thing I've said about him personally is that he allows sub-human conditions in his warehouses, to the point that workers need to pee in bottles to avoid being fired. I've never called him dumb or stupid. See how that works? (me calling for Jeff Bezos to have to pay his fair share of taxes isn't about Jeff Bezos at all. He's just a symptom of the problem)

Finally... good on you for criticizing AOC for her politics (in the quoted post) without making judgments about her intelligence. That's kind of been my point all along.
