It seems nobody's a Republican here. But your talking points echo Republican talking points to the letter. So if I say "Republican" you can just assume I'm talking about conservatives. I'll try to be more targeted in the future though.

Never said AOC should be put on a pedestal. I said AOC is mocked by core conservatives as a "dumb bartender," despite support of blue collar workers being a core conservative value. I try as hard as I can to not misrepresent your arguments, I would appreciate you doing the same.

You think Jeff Bezos is a point in your favor, but it actually just proves my point. The only negative thing I've said about him personally is that he allows sub-human conditions in his warehouses, to the point that workers need to pee in bottles to avoid being fired. I've never called him dumb or stupid. See how that works? (me calling for Jeff Bezos to have to pay his fair share of taxes isn't about Jeff Bezos at all. He's just a symptom of the problem)

Finally... good on you for criticizing AOC for her politics (in the quoted post) without making judgments about her intelligence. That's kind of been my point all along.

I am not a Conservative either.  Anymore labels you want to add?  As to AOC, give me an example that shows her intelligence?

I don't know why you want to play word games with me. Whatever you want to call yourself, or don't want to call yourself. The political views you have expressed fit perfectly into the conservative spectrum.

As to AOC, give me an example that shows her intelligence?

Happy to give you several. For starters, she demonstrates a firm grasp of some pretty complex ideas. If you'd actually care to understand her stance on policing, for example, you'd see that it's a very informed opinion. Again, you may not like her conclusions, but that's not what we're discussing. She has sponsored 23 bills, ranging from climate, to law enforcement's use of chemical weapons, to health care, to public housing policy, to corporate accountability. These are not bills she just put her name to. These are bills she has sponsored. When she speaks (I'm a CSPAN junkie) she is eloquent, educated, and asks intelligent questions. She has demonstrated an understanding of how the government works, the separation of powers, the branches of government, and the Constitution. She doesn't push conspiracy theories, she understands that the pandemic is real, and unlike many Democrats and Republicans, she actually seems to work for and care for her constituents. She has criticized members of her own party, including the President, rather than towing approved Democratic talking points. In high school, she won second place at a science and engineering fair sponsored by Intel. (The Massachusetts Institute of Technology was so impressed with her presentation, they named an asteroid after her) She graduated cum laude from Boston University with a double major in International Relations and Economics.

If you didn't know her or her politics, you wouldn't hesitate to conclude that she's a demonstrably intelligent individual who embodies the kind of work ethic we'd all like to see in our representatives.

Yep, very intelligent.  The fact she is pushing socialism endlessly is quite troubling, but it is what it is.  You did mention she understands the three branches of government, I seem to remember a comment from her showing she did not.

Btw, I loved the excerpt from Wikipedia.  Who maintains that for her?

I didn't quote anything from Wikipedia. I admittedly do not have AOC facts at my fingertips and will occasionally Google for specifics. Must I actually post only from memory to meet your criteria? Was anything I posted factually incorrect?

You asked if I could give examples of her intelligence. I gave examples. Are you just unable to admit that yes, you hate her politics, but she does seem like an intelligent person? I gave you a list of people whose politics I can't stand, but whom I also consider intelligent people. Why is it so hard for you to just say yes, she seems smart, too bad about her politics? I promise you, nobody will think lesser of you if you do.

I don't agree with her Democrat Socialist of America politics, I think that is very clear.  I don't make decisions based on hatred as hatred is an irrational emotion.  Now you are going into how she seems, if it is based on that, then the jury is still out on her overall intelligence considering publicly available words she has used.  Simply signing on as a co-sponsor of a bill is really meaningless, my understanding is that she actually wrote the GND which you seem to agree is a poor attempt at legislation.  The simple fact is that in today's world, how can anyone tell how intelligent someone in DC is?  Is Matt Gaetz intelligent?  I would opine no, based on his alleged personal actions, he is not very intelligent.  Was Trump intelligent, who knows.  I would say it was not very smart for him to use Twitter (even though it was a way to talk directly to the public without going through a biased media filter), or to inject himself in the Covid19 daily briefings just to stoke his onw ego.  In fact it might have been these two items that lost the election for him in 2020 since he created a bunch of people who hated him.  Who are some DC insiders with politics you agree with that you feel say or do stupid things?

Their whole world falls apart if they don't have "AOC is dumb" as a talking point........I know this is triggering for them, but bless their hearts......

Seems like that all works both ways.  The Left and their media allies seem to be doing anything they can to keep Trump in the discussion, and of course he obliges as much as possible.  The Right and their media allies did the same with Hillary, and do the same with AOC.  It is a longstanding political strategy that both sides use.  Whether it is effective or not, who knows.  I am sure it is effective with some of the electorate, but oftentimes it brings some laughter.

Ha ha.  Now I am a political operative using pre-set talking points.  Am I a white supremacist as well?  What other broad brush labels would you like to apply?  Btw, it is not unsettling at all, but if it makes you happy, feel what you want.

Nancy Pelosi

Chuck Schumer

Joe Biden

Kamala Harris

Tammy Duckworth

Gretchen Whitmer

Bernie Sanders

Pete Butigieg

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

The list goes on and on. It's weird because this will come as a shock to some of you folks. A healthy relationship with your political leaders is to be critical and skeptical always and to call them out when they need to be called out, even if you otherwise support them.

Have you noticed that I answer the actual questions you ask, without some round-about weird way of not answering the question? It floors me that you can't just simply say that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is objectively an intelligent person just because you don't like her politics. Because I guarantee if she was on the other side of the political divide, you'd have no problem saying it.

Interesting, it doesn’t seem that way considering the constant defense you offer of these folks.  I actually tend to think Nancy Pelosi is very smart at least politically.   Whatever, you answered the question.  As to your question, I guess I don’t base my opinion on someone being intelligent on whatever is in the media.  Particularly when it comes to a DC politician that has a team of operatives able to do whatever they can to shape opinion.  She may be a smart person that acts or speaks stupid, but without personal knowledge of an individual it is only a perception regardless of their politics.  Now if she turns her time in office into a financially lucrative endeavor without running afoul of the law, then she is most likely quite intelligent.

She graduated university, cum laude with a double major, MIT was impressed enough with her to name an asteroid after her, but yeah, jury's still out, could all be an act. 🙄
