Can anyone advise on current Amsterdam K1 backlog/delay

Hi we are trying to find the status of Amsterdam consulate for K1 processing as my Dutch citizen fiance can now enter Netherlands so we may transfer from London.  We heard in another forum they have limited backlog (processing NOA2 from March 2021 /NOA1 from summer 2020).  I didn't hear those being processed were only plaintiffs. But NVC just told us that Amsterdam is not processing at all.  Does anyone have recent experience?

thanks

I'm CR1 so I don't have direct experience, but if your Dutch fiancé has Facebook there's this really useful group of Dutch immigrants called "Nederlands in Amerika - Verhuizen voor de liefde" where people share their timelines, experiences etc; so I would definitely recommended joining it. Based on that group I'd say Amsterdam is definitely processing K1's as well; though I'm not sure if that is for plaintiffs only.

Thanks - that's very helpful.

Could I ask what you mean by "my Dutch citizen fiance can now enter Netherlands"?

Dutch citizens have always been able to enter their home country.

I am also looking into the possibility of transferring our CR1 to Amsterdam.

Do you know how exactly one is supposed to transfer their case to Amsterdam? Do you email the Consulate General or is there an online form?

Thanks,
Wouter

P.S. I believe the exact name of the Facebook group is Nederlanders in Amerika - Verhuisd voor de liefde"

Hi it's likely you are right about the Dutch having been able to enter throughout. They had some problem with his mum being able to move home during Covid but it was a more complex situation so I think we got the story muddled.  In any case, he can now but not fully sure whether he needs quarantine (from UK).  To transfer, we have been trying to reach someone at the embassy or NVC for 3 weeks now, trying 3 different emails and ringing various numbers without luck getting no response except the template answers referring to FAQs and its not there (that I could find).  We also wrote the NVC and expect the answer shortly to confirm the process and then we do plan to proceed.   I was told (on a K1 Facebook group by the admin) that official process is that one gets the local consulate to tell you the requirements (which differ by consulate) and that they are OK to take you and then one sends the papers to NVC with the transfer instruction.   I'll share as soon as I hear something. We found the Dutch Facebook group - thanks - and its useful.    regards Andrea

Hi Andrea, thanks for giving an overview of everything you have tried, and it would be great if you would share if you hear something and let us know what worked (and what didn't).

Good luck!
