Pembina POE?

By tomorrow evening, the boy should be crossing through Pembina. (He even got someone on the phone who said that they *would* stamp him for his temporary worker's permit. Haha. I guess we'll see how that goes, but I'm not crossing my fingers.) I did a quick search, but has anyone had any recent-ish dealings with Pembina/Emerson?

I wish I didn't have to work these next three days, or I'd surprise him by driving up to North Dakota! (He's staying overnight in Grand Forks, where we lived together for two years. Meeemmmories.)

At least we'll be together for the next stage of hurdles in this inane process...

Please do let us know if they give the EAD stamp there....

If so, then it would be more worth it to comtemplate travelling from Calgary to Winnipeg before crossing.... Since we're going to SW Kansas anyways....

Detroit was just too far away to entertain that thought.....

Scott.

My husband crossed at Pembina on May 31st. We are IR-1 so no EAD stamp for us but there is one guy there that usually does the visa and he is the head of immigration for that port and knows what he is doing. My huband was there with U-haul of ####### and his passport and the brown secret packet and was there 1/2 hour. Good luck with your crossing!!!

mr. s p - Wouldn't you go Calgary ---) Pembina, anyway?

We're doing Edmonton ---) Winnipeg --) NE Kansas. He's staying overnight in Regina and Grand Forks.

He should be passing through at any hour now. Hopefully he'll give me a call after he gets through customs, unless they turn him back. *knocks on wood*

Okay, he made it through but no stamp. Got the same ol' "Detroit shouldn't be doing that" speech when he brought it up. Oh well. He already has a SS number/card from his student visa, so that'll cut some of the wait time off filing for the EAD/AP/etc. (Although his parents want to come down for the JoP signing. We can't really afford two-three weeks between him getting here and us getting married. Arrrrr.)

Glad he made it fine.... sorry to hear about no EAD stamp, though....

hi everyone thought i'd add to this We crossed at pembina with uhaul and my car We were there 10 mins all i needed was the paper for my car, they cared less about the uhaul or the cat. we had a harder time getting into canada though, I picked hubby up in grand forks and we were detained almost 45 mins inside no reason given and they never searched the carmaybe my car came up with multiple recent crossings who knows? lol. I got my car insured with state farm less then half of what i paid in canada, even with the lien on it then i got it registered and again so quick and easy. now i have to do my road and written test for licence. oh and my EI cards and letter arrived 2 days after i did . Now to get my EAD card, then my ssn and then start on the AOS stuff. good luck and hope everyone has a great day.
