Hello everyone,

I hope there are people who had have this experience before.

I'm trying to find some information/answers about medical examinations prior to a visa interview. Can I get my medical examination completed at the different country than my interview? Or does it have to be the same country?

Looking forward for some responses!

Thanks

Hi there,

Thank you. I think that answers to my question. So, it has to be in the country where the U.S Consulate is if it has to be approved by that specific consulate where the visa interview going to take place.

Simple answer, no.  It has to be a panel physician approved by the visa issuing consulate.

YMMV

It has to be approved by the consulate doing the interview.   As an example,  applicants from Portugal interview in Paris.   Paris has an approved panel physician in Portugal for those applicants to use, and they submit the results to Paris.

YMMV

Thanks again! So, it is possible if the consulate that I will be interviewed in has an approved panel physician in the UK where I reside at the moment.

If you reside in the UK, why are you not interviewing in London?  Vilnius will NOT have an approved panel physician outside of Lithuania

YMMV

Because I'm Lithuanian citizen and we decided to transfer our case to Vilnius.

I appreciate your time and effort to help. Thank you for clarifying things. I think, I'm just going to stick with approved panel physician in Vilnius.

No.   The Portugal example is due to where its citizens are required to interview.

Portugal has an US embassy and consulate, one in Lisbon (continental region) the other in Ponta Delgada, Azores.
In 2012, US chose to remove the services for full immigration and they got "transferred" to the US embassy in Paris, France.
Since then, portuguese people have to travel to France for the interviews and they can choose to use between the two doctors US appointed in Continental Portugal and Azores or if they can/need, they can go for the two doctors in Paris (also US appointed).
Non-immigrant visas are still done in the US embassy/consulate in Portugal.

Don't forget that if you're doing your interview in Lithuania, that you will need a Lithuanian address to receive the visa. Or you might have to get a special envelope for the visa to be sent to UK. I'd recommend contacting the Embassy where you're getting the interview, to ask what is their policy regarding sending the visa outside the country.

Portuguese need to buy a Chronopost envelope size 2kg for “European Union” and give it on the day of the interview, to later get their passport and documents back from France to Portugal.

Good luck on your interview!
