Would post-it tabs (plastic) on USCIS forms be a problem?

Already sent out my package. Now I'm thinking, I put the post-it tabs (plastic, see attached picture) at the bottom of the first page of my I-751 (and first page of other supporting documents) Would it be a problem? (e.g. form be considered tampered? accidental paper tearing if the person handling is not careful?)  I know it's fine for the other documents, but not sure if it directly on the formal form is fine.

Need to hear some experiences of people doing the same thing and get through without problem...

Thank you!

Someone just has to rip those off.   Talk about slowing it down.  It will get processed.   A few years ago I went on a tour of the contractor that scanned the petitions in Phoenix.   There was a stack that had to be done by hand.  USCIS literally provides instructions.  If you tab, they go at the bottom so docs can be auto fed.

what do you mean by hand?

Don't they usually have multiple page scanners that you can feed like 50 pages at once?

Yes, I did tab it at the bottom.

It's so interesting that you were on a trip with a contractor! I am so curious about how they actually handle the materials. Any other insider info🧐?

The use multiple page high speed - you can not have anything on the long side.

It is the lowest bidder using the cheapest labor.   You can hope for the best.   They know how many pages a form is. I think they still store the originals in case it is needed.  The only question is if you have evidence you attached.    I made sure all of our supporting pages were numbered # x of Y.

You filing may be delayed while someone makes your pages scannable.

No one at USCIS will ever see your tabs.   Next time you file either use binder clips of two hole top punch your sets and use ADCO clips.

Wish I had saw this before submitting. I def used too many clips/tabs.

I used sticky tabs at the bottom of my package, it was orgainzed and numbered in the same order as the cover letter (that's my package in the photo).

They specifically mention that you can use sticky tabs on their website. At the bottom of the pages, not on the long side.

"In preparing your packet, remember:

  • Do not use binders or folders that we cannot easily disassemble.
  • Use fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.
  • Sticky tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. For easy filing, place the tabs on the bottom of the page, not the side."
