My father is filing for me n my sisters. My older sister's email is on documents. Yesterday my dad told me that he got an approval document from the immigration office. I want to know what is the nest steps? I am planning to purchase a house here in Jamaica but if I don't have years here it makes no sense.

You need to provide more info about the petition for someone to help you. Depending on the petition date and type, you could be immigrating to the US in next 2 years or in next 13 years.

Thing is... I don't have much information. I am the middle child and the contact information is for my older sibling.

If your father filed for each of you, each one will have separate petition. Contact information of your older sibling doesn't matter. Can you not ask your father about the petition info?

My father is a pathological lier. So I half don't believe I'm being filed for tbh. Which is why I want some help. My oldest sibling is a boy, who he says was denied because he was arrested in his teens here. My brother has confirmed that that is so. Nobody knew about the charge as my brother has a different mother. So yesterday when he got the documents, he video called us and said that his attorney says that by the end of June, it is likely that we will be there.

If he is talking about this June of 2021 (this month), i agree with you, he is a pathological liar.

If you don't know anything about the petition and your petitioner is a liar, then nobody can help.

  1. When did your dad file the petition for you guys?
  2. How many are you that he claims to have petitioned for?
  3. How many approvals does he claim he got?
  4. How old are you guys?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

He asked for me n my children documents about July 2019. He says he is filing for me n my 3 of 4 children and my 2 sisters n my brother. He has approval for everyone except my brother. Says he was denied because of a felony. I am 27,my brother is 37, sister is 35 n 31. My children is 8,5,3 n a 2 month old.(2 month old was not petition fjr)

So when did he actually submit the petition? It takes 6-7 years from filing to visa for children over 21, assuming you are unmarried.

The brother with the felony could be denied depending what the crime was, but this would only happen at the interview stage, not before

ask your father to send you a copy of the receipt notice for your petition and see what the “priority date” is on there.

I'm not sure when it was submitted. He had been saying that for some time but I been doubting.when he requested my birth certificate is when I started saying okay. Maybe.  So I'm not sure if it was done before or after.

Ask him for a screenshot of the approval or when he filed. Then we can know for sure

With your ages, unless he did it years ago, I do not see how he can get a fast approval

As I said, ask him for a copy of the receipt notice so you can see. The “priority date” is the date the petition was filed.

when the VJ community asks for more information,  they need to know if your dad is a US citizen or a green card holder

that makes a big difference in timeframe (about 2 years to a interview for USC petitions and well over 10 for green card holders to get kids here)

and he needs to make for 5 people $38,800 ( himself,  you,  2 sisters and a brother)

and $44,475 if he is married

he can not file for your children ( for me n my 3 of 4 children ) as there is no filing for grandchildren

Sounds like he got the acknowledgement and now the wait for PD

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Correction 1, the kids are all over 21 and assuming they are unmarried, there is only about a year difference between LPR and USC and LPR is faster (6-7 years for these). If they are married (but no mention of spouses in post) then parent has to be USC but it’s longer.

Correction 2, both F1 and F2 (A or B) petitions allow derivatives so yes he can effectively file for the grandchildren as well.
