Hi everyone. Can someone who traveled out of the US with a expired conditional green card and the extension letter notice of action I-797 share their experience traveling back to the US? I wonder if it was ok or if any of you had problems re-entering the country or boarding on a plane with the airline. I intend to travel to out of the US soon but I’m worried. Having just the expired GC and the extension letter is enough to return or do I have to schedule and infopass and get a stamp on my passport?

Thanks in advance. Any reply would be very appreciated.

Yes, it's enough: https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/assets/documents/2019-Mar/2019 Carrier Information Guide - ENGLISH.pdf "Expired Conditional Resident Card, Form I-551 accompanied by Form I-797, Notice of Action indicating the card validity is extended"

You can also show the above Guide to the airline, if needed.

No need to worry, just take your expired green card and the Original extension letter. You’ll be fine. Read my previous post about my wife crossing back across the border, she’s also on an extension letter. We crossed back in to the u.s. It was almost 2 weeks ago. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. Have fun on your trip!

What happened I just got mine it's September 16th in Philadelphia

Biometrics aren’t exciting for anyone-period. I haven’t completed mine for I-751(not due for a year or two yet) but did for AOS.

For biometrics they take a pic and fingerprints-interpret as exciting as how you please 😌

Salaam Aziz! The process took unnecessarily long and the staff could have been nicer to some people with Language barrier. I am just glad it is done. Whats the processing time for Potomac currently?

Hi all! Have you heard about that USCIS is extending the evidence of status from 18 months to 24 months, mainly to accommodate the increased processing times. Apparently, anyone who filed before Sept 4th will receive a new letter. I haven't gotten mine yet. More info on this link: https://www.uscis.gov/news/alerts/uscis-extends-evidence-of-status-for-conditional-permanent-residents-to-24-months-with-pending-form#:~:text=Starting Sept.,Conditions on Permanent Resident Status.

Yes, we did as well. Our biometrics was waived on August 11th. I was just inquiring what your service center is? Where is your application being processed?
